So incredibly expensive. There is no value here, however, the Broadway show we saw was great and it's fun to have different options for shopping than the norm. Be aware that sometimes using Google to help you navigate the subway system can be confusing at times.
We loved the Museum of the Moving Image. I am a frequent museum go-er but had never heard of this museum. Since it was right around the corner from where we were staying, my husband and I decided to go -- and were we ever surprised and impressed. We could have spent all day there. Words can't describe how great this place is. If you are a movie or TV buff, this is a must-see. Even if you are not (like me), you should still go. I'm sure you'll be bowled over with this place.
Can't review all of Brooklyn, but GreenPoint was cool, restaurants, bars, take-outs, convenience stores, nice feel to the area. Easy subway access to rest of NYC, Ubers everywhere, trees, just a nice vibe really.
What an amazing city - there is something to experience, eat, see and do at any time of day. The people are friendly and the options for each day are endless. From a picnic in Central Park followed by a tour through the Met (don’t forget to visit the rooftop for an amazing sunset) to world-class shows, to walking the Brooklyn Bridge & eating Omakase in Williamsburg to restaurants, lounges, speakeasy’s and comedy clubs, there is truly something for everyone. New York will definitely be an annual trip for us.
Long Island City is a very mixed neighbourhood - industrial, working class, and areas being gentrified. Not everyone would feel comfortable walking around the neighborhood. But there is hip stuff developing.
Brooklyn is a very busy city. There are many options for activities and sightseeing. The traffic is very, very busy and the parking is almost impossible. If you know where you are going and what time you need to be there you must definitely factor in your commute.
