And the cost was very reasonable for both lodging and food (that said, I would have paid a bit more for attention to the very basic upgrades that would make it more comfortable.

The Farm Resorts is located on the shores of the Castlereigh Lake in Dickoya. The Resort has barbecue facilities and terraced garden, and guests can enjoy a meal at the a la carte restaurant. Stunning property — there are 6 chalets and 1 family bungalow nestled among a 22-acre tea plantation, a walking path, lots of flowers and trees and right by the Castlereigh Reservoir. My elderly parents and I had a very comfortable 2-night stay in the family bungalow. The staff are friendly! We had several meals on-site during our stay; breakfast and lunch served outdoors with incredible views and dinner served in a cozy dining room. My fave was kayaking on Castlereigh Reservoir — extremely serene and peaceful! Absolutely nothing to complain about, everything was wonderful!

Located in Hatton, 27 miles from Gregory Lake, Rock View Rest Hatton features a terrace and views of the river. The pictures don’t do the surroundings justice. The house(s) has a ramshackle charm and the setting is top notch, especially for the price. I went swimming in the river my first day and laid out on the rocks. you can hear the waterfalls from your room while you sleep. Ravi is an honest and welcoming host who really makes you’re going to have a good stay. He also has top notch recommendations and thankfully convinced me to stay more than just one night as my only plan in hatton was to hike Adam’s peak. But the Gartmore waterfall and swimming there was a highlight of my trip.

Maskeliya is a scenic country town with views of Adam's Peak and the Maskeliya reservoir. It was easy to get to and there are all basic amenities. We also did a tour to one of the Tea Estates nearby to visit the tea factory.
Hatton is a good transport hub for more popular destinations, but it’s also worth visiting as it has easy access to tea plantations, waterfalls, beautiful scenery and is a 1 hour, 30mins bus journey to Sri Pada/Adam’s peak. It’s a busy small city/town so it’s a good place to observe real local life and customs. It’s easy to take a stroll along paths through the nearby tea plantations.

Hatton is a nature paradise. Cool vibrant city in the central hills of Srilanka. Beautiful waterfalls, mountains and tea plantations within and outside the city. Adams Peak can be reached via Maskeliya Town. Very cold in the night. Variants of sweetmeats available in the market.
Hatton is a very basic locals town, as it is surrounded by tea plantations. The surrounding landscape is stunning. The design of the bungalow residences is fabulous. Each with its own unique charm. I thoroughly reclined a stay here.
