Featuring air-conditioned accommodation with a patio, Villas Macadamia - Monteverde is located in Monteverde Costa Rica. We had a wonderful stay at La Macadamia with my dad. The hosts, Guillermo and Marisel, were extremely nice and welcoming, and the cottage was absolutely beautiful! Everything was perfectly clean, the garden was beautifully tended, the beds were comfortable, the decoration was impeccable and the kitchen was well equipped. We also had their homemade breakfast; which was absolutely wonderful! On top of everything else, the location was perfect (we came by car) and we were super close to local restaurants and to the Cloud Forest. We couldn't believe how incredible the whole experience was for the price, if we're ever back in town we're sure to go back here! Thank you!

These two guest houses are nestled in a magnificent jungle landscape on the grounds of a small farm. There are horses, chickens, a cat and two dogs. We particularly liked the paradisiacal jungle river, where you can also swim. The hosts are incredibly helpful and nice and make a great breakfast and dinner for their guests in the open-air kitchen. We felt very comfortable there.

YerbaBuena Modern Stay in the Cloud Forest offers accommodation for small and large families and groups. This property is absolutely stunning. The owners of the property are both so lovely and welcoming when you arrive. The rooms are huge, very very clean and beautifully decorated. The winner is the garden though, it is absolutely beautiful and such a nice place to relax and spot monkeys and other wildlife. It is about a 3.5km walk to the cloud forest and although it’s a bit out of Santa Elena there are nice restaurants and bakeries next door. There is also a big kitchen that is well stocked with cooking equipment etc. The hosts also provide you with a coffee maker in your room and coffee each day. It’s a really fantastic place to stay.

Featuring garden views, Bungalows Ballena features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, an indoor pool and a garden, around 70 metres from Uvita Beach. The cabin was very spacious and clean, no issues with water or any other commodities. We had a couple of rainy nights which were superb to listen to under the cabin roof. All cabin commodities were great, including the tasty courtesy coffee.

Boasting pool with a view and views of mountain, Villas en el Bosque is a recently renovated villa situated in Ojochal, 1.2 km from Tortuga. We enjoyed one night here, the kids loved the pool and the breakfast was the best yet in Costa Rica.

Bungalow was very cute and clean, good location (ten minutes walk from town or less), AMAZING host! Sofia brought us fresh fruit each morning, gave us loads of good recommendations, helped us to book shuttles, even helped us with our laundry. Thank you for everything Sofia! For lunch or dinner, we would recommend Taco Station (a neighbour’s takeaway business), Manolo’s and (best of all) Soda de Armistad. Plus the original canopy tour!
