I highly recommend it if you are going to Ito.

Situated 1.6 km from Takayama Station, Iroriyado Hidaya is a recently renovated 4-star accommodation in Takayama, boasting a garden, a shared lounge and private parking. The staff of Iroriyado Hidaya was exceptionally friendly and helpful, also with regard to our kids; their genuine kindness and hospitality is a memory we will treasure. Using the traditional clothing and onsen was also a one of a kind experience. With our rental car the ryokan was a good exploration base for the surrounding area. And there is a really good authentic restaurant around the corner. If we got a chance in the future we would definitely come again!

Atami Sekaie is set in Atami, 2.6 km from Atami Sun Beach, 25 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station, as well as 36 km from Shuzen-ji Temple. We really enjoyed our stay and the meals (dinner & breakfast) were excellent.

Set 10 km from Shuzen-ji Temple, Yumeguri no Yado Yoshiharu offers 5-star accommodation in Izunokuni and has a garden. Large place with different corridors which makes it feel a little mysterious. The dining room is very nice with a nice garden view. Food was excellent. Onsen was very good. All in all, nothing unique but a very very good ryokan.

Facing the seafront, Izu Hokkawa Seaside Guesthouse 伊豆北川の家 is a ryokan providing a 2-star accommodation in Higashiizu. It features a private beach area, garden and private parking. The property is very clean and cozy. It’s also complete with facilities like hot shower and bath, fridge, hot water kettle, and so on. It is a guesthouse so I think the owner went above and beyond to make their customers comfortable. Also, the owner offers rides to restaurants and onsens nearby which makes stay even more convenient.

Offering a garden and garden view, Nagataki is located in Nakatsugawa, 10 km from Toson Memorial Museum and 10 km from Magome Wakihonjin Museum. This was honestly the best experience we had in Japan so far! It offers you an authentic Japanese experience, with house clothing provided and all the necessary amenities. The house we stayed in was 200 years old but extremely well preserved, spacious and cozy. We were able to reserve one of the baths just for ourselves and it was absolutely wonderful, especially after hiking all day. Dinner and breakfast were also traditionally Japanese, cooked by the host himself! They were so so yummy and nicely presented, they matched a Michelin star restaurant quality. Highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to experience true Japanese culture and history.

2.7 km from Atagawa You Yu Beach in Higashiizu, Bousui offers accommodation with access to a sauna, hot spring bath and hot tub. Beautiful location. The young man looking after us and our room was absolutely amazing. The staff were very flexible about us needing to change the breakfast time. Highly recommend.
