Kusatsu Onsen Eidaya is located in Kusatsu. The property is a 10-minute walk from Kusatsu Yubatake and Kusatsu-Onsen Bus Terminal. It is a Japanese style inn with retro vibes. Their private onsen's water comes from the very hot spring source of Kusatsu and therefore you can experience the hot spring water without going to the public baths if you are shy. We mostly used them at night when the town's baths are closed since the inn's are 24/7 open. I would recommend to book a japanese style room as it has it's tatami and according decoration and together with the inn's yukata (there is an opt for a colorful one and geta to rent) it gives a more japanese experience. We liked that the inn had slippers for going outside which was convenient as the whole town is full with onsens (even ones that are only for feet) and therefore is more convenient to move in slippers. They have a game area with a lot of retro game (even arcade games) and Nintendo SFC System Video Game Console in the rooms. It may not be in the centre of the town (around 10 min walk for either yubatake or Sainokawara Park and open onsen) but is very close to it and also they offer pick up/drop off from the bus terminal. Staff were very friendly and helped with everything we needed. In our next visit to Kusatsu we are definitely staying there!

Located just 2.5 km from Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Morinouta offers accommodation in Nikko with access to a garden, a terrace, as well as luggage storage space. The kindest people you have ever met. Bar none. The baths were divine.

Providing lake views and a garden, Chuzenji Pension offers accommodation in a prime location in Nikko, within a short distance of Kegon Falls, Chuzenji Lake and Chuzenji Temple. Staying here was a fantastic experience! The situation of the house overlooking Lake Chuzenji is incredible and the owner was wonderfully hospitable. The pension is run extremely well by the lady and her team who provide a delicious traditional meal - we enjoyed this experience so much and it was a real highlight of our trip. The pension’s location was the perfect base to enjoy the beauty of the Lake Chuzenji area and the hiking and natural surroundings it offers. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to anybody considering a trip to Nikko/Chuzenji. Thank you!

Located in Kusatsu in the Gunma region, Oyado Yukizumi provides accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking, as well as access to a hot spring bath. Amazing facilities - big spacious room, very clean. The onsen is great with natural spring water, very clean and tidy, if a bit small but it’s no issue.

Set in Takasaki, 28 km from Usui Pass Railway Heritage Park, Ryutakuzenji 宿坊 offers accommodation with free bikes, free private parking, a garden and a bar. Amazing stay! The host, the temple, the garden with the Onsen are all just great! Highly recommended at least one night. The dinner and breakfast as well were very good and freshly done.

Offering massage services and mountain view, Kusatsu Hotel Bekkan Wata no Yu (Adult Only) is situated in Kusatsu, 45 km from Jigokudani Monkey Park and 14 km from Mt. Kusatsu Shirane. I would highly recommend! There was a very homely atmosphere. The dinner was perfect and enough food for 2 days! Rooms were specious with a view on the stream. Next to the accommodation is a beautiful park with multiple footbaths and the street to the centre is filled with souvenir shops and unique eats. The staff were real accommodating, especially the hostes was exceptionally welcoming, sweet and lovely! The in-house onsen and sauna was extremely relaxing. 11 out of 10!

Set just 36 km from Gala Yuzawa Snow Resort, Minakamisansou features accommodation in Minakami with access to an open-air bath, a shared lounge, as well as a lift. Whole property is amazing from check in to check out! Dinner and breakfast is delightful and so fresh! Staff make you feel so welcomed and comfortable!

Hanaingen is an adult only accommodation situated in Kusatsu, just a 2-minute walk from Yubatake, or the hot water field in Kusatsu Onsen. Location, comfort, and service were all excellent. The Ryokan was equipped with very good facilities. Private onsens were available as well, although you need to take turns to use one of the 4 shower rooms.

Set 36 km from Ishidan-gai Steps, Sekizenkan Kashotei Sanso offers 4-star accommodation in Nakanojo and has an open-air bath. The kaiseki cuisine was a memorable experience, the open air onsen was great, the staff gave good recommendations on places to visit in town and were super friendly. Small yet cozy town, will definitely come back again!
