The mother and son duo (I believe) are professional and so caring. I ordered their Tochigi wagyu steak for dinner and it was one of the best meals I had in Japan. Incredible marbling of the steak and the complimenting dishes were amazing. The breakfast was also amazing and they even gave me a snack pack before I left. Amazing hospitable hosts that I would recommend for anyone. There are two private onsens available 24/7 on site too. Tobu bus stop right across the street for easy access.

Providing lake views and a garden, Chuzenji Pension offers accommodation in a prime location in Nikko, within a short distance of Kegon Falls, Chuzenji Lake and Chuzenji Temple. The owner gave us a syperb room with lake view. The meals are so delicious and the staffs are so welcoming.

We had a great time staying at Ryutakuzenji! The owner is very friendly and welcoming and provided a lot of great insights to the history of the property. This was definitely the most unique stay we had in Japan and I would recommend it to anyone. Thank you Mr. Tendou!

Situated in Kusatsu, 45 km from Jigokudani Monkey Park and 14 km from Mt. Kusatsu Shirane, Kusatsu Hotel Bekkan Wata no Yu (Adult Only) offers air conditioning. The property is modern with a Japanese touch, very comfortable and the view from the room is very nice. The room is spacious and there is an indoor onsen to relax after going out the whole day. Breakfast is also good. The location is convenient, an interesting walk to the Yubatake with a number of snack places and restaurants, an interesting walk to the centre of Kusatsu. A famous outdoor onsen place is located 10 minutes walking distance from the hotel, you can walk through the garden, definitely worth visiting. The biggest attraction of the hotel is the service, Miki san, exceptional service, very hospitable and assist us immensely during our stay. We had a flat tire and she helped us a lot to get it sorted which is very important as she is fluent in English and can help us to communicate with the repair shop.

Set just 36 km from Gala Yuzawa Snow Resort, Minakamisansou features accommodation in Minakami with access to an open-air bath, a shared lounge, as well as a lift. Breakfast and dinner was superb. The experience and the food was wonderful. The room was comfortable, especially with the private onsen bath. Everything was really clean. Some staffs spoke english, which was a good bonus. There was a shuttle service, which was really appreciated. The communication was perfect.

The place was really beautiful: the perfect place to relax. Also the staff was very friendly and helpful, the food was delicious...I think it is the best stay I've had in Japan so far and definitely the best in kusatsu (my 3rd time there)

Set 36 km from Ishidan-gai Steps, Sekizenkan Kashotei Sanso offers 4-star accommodation in Nakanojo and has an open-air bath. We came late due to traffic congestion. They still waited us for the dinner at 8:30pm.
