Boasting an open-air bath and views of mountain, Onsen Guest House Tsutaya is a recently renovated ryokan situated in Hakone, 6.5 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station. The hotel was a very nice surprise when we visited Japan. The shared bathroom was a unique experience, the traditional room was worth the visit and the hotel offered a very relaxing onsen. It is in a nice location (near bus stations, among trees), with very friendly and helpful staff.

Boasting rare nigori-yu milky water hot spring baths and , Mount View Hakone offers Japanese-style rooms and Japanese delicacies. Our stay at Mount View Hakone was simply wonderful! The room was wide and beautiful and our futon were super comfortable. The staff was kind and helpful, explaining everything in detail. Dinner was absolutely delicious! We really appreciated being able to try Japanese cuisine dishes that you normally cannot find in restaurants, and there were so many different ones! We booked one of the private onsen and it was just so relaxing to be able to relax in the water while admiring the view on the bamboo forest. The ryokan is located a bit further out from Gora, the main town, but to be honest the peace and quiet is exactly what we were going for. The hotel is well connected and has a bus stop right in front of it, so it was easy to reach and move around. Overall, a great stay and definitely worth the trip from Tokyo!

Opened in 1878, Fujiya Hotel features Meiji Era architecture set in Hakone’s natural beauty. the hotel facilities were great , the room was huge ; there is free shutteles from the hotel to the train station

Hot Spring Inn Hakone Suisen offers a hot spring bath and free private parking, and is within 4.2 km of Hakone-Yumoto Station and 3.6 km of Kowakudani Station. We’re from Canada and I brought my Brazilian roomie with me to visit my home country. I truly liked the hot spring and how it’s not a “too touristy” location. We were there in the holiday season but because it’s a hidden jem Ryokan, we were able to have both the “daiyokujo” and “Roten buro” all to ourselves (we did go late at night and early morning). They also have 24h ashiyu (foot hot tub) which was super awesome. I had beer while planning for the next day and just chilled there all by myself for an hr.

Boasting a garden, shared lounge and views of mountain, YUPOPPO Hakone is situated in Hakone, 43 km from Fuji-Q Highland. Dai and his wife are amazing hosts. Great welcome, food, recommendations on whst to see in the area and overall service. Thanks a lot for making me feel at home.

Set in Hakone, Centurion Hakone Bettei offers 4-star accommodation with private balconies. There is an in-house restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. Best customer service, clean, wonderful experience. Food was excellent. Easy to purchase items such as sake and dessert cookies. Arranged for our taxis and shuttle service. Room was spacious and lovely with a wonderful view. Highly recommend.

Boasting a hot tub, Hakone Miyanoshita Myojokan is set in Hakone. The 3-star ryokan features mountain views and is 6.2 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station. Very nice ryokan. Very friendly owner. The bath is wonderful and the room as expected.

Hakone Retreat villa 1f in Hakone provides adults-only accommodation with an open-air bath and a garden. This ryokan offers free private parking and a 24-hour front desk. The place was like a great dream , in the heart of the forest. The staff were very friendly specially Asato-san . The location is great if you plan to visit Hakone , beside the bus stop , there is a big 7-eleven 1 bus stop away or 13 min or less walk.
