The room was spacious, clean and quiet with a nice view of the river and forest. It was lovely sitting on the verandah listening to the rive accompanied by birdsong; no other sounds.

The location is absolutely beautiful - you will immediately feel at peace. We went in August so the foliage was a bright vibrant green.
Though communal baths are available - highly recommend getting a room with a private onsen.
The accommodation is what you’d expect of a traditional style ryokan - charmingly rustic.
Dinner was served outside by the river, making it feel so special. The kaiseki on the first night was delicious, but the portions were much smaller than what we previously experienced at a different ryokan. Bring some snacks with you if you have a big appetite (there is a small fridge in the rooms to keep your own food/drinks in). Thoroughly enjoyed the sukiyaki dinner on our second night - it was our first time having this dish and loved the theatre of watching the food cook in front of you.
It was a lovely surprise being able to chat and take a photo with maiko (apprentice geisha) before their performance. Seeing their immaculate makeup and kimono up close makes you appreciate the effort involved. I believe this is only available Friday - Sunday so definitely plan your trip ok these days if it’s something you want to experience.

This ryokan is situated in beautiful nature. We had a beautiful view of the river from our room and had dinner by the riverside on both nights. Rooms are big, cozy and very relaxing. The whole area is beautiful and we enjoyed exploring it. Food (breakfast and dinner) was amazing, best we had in Japan so far. All the staff was absolutely wonderful. They picked us up at the bus station and dropped us at the train, which made the whole trip much simpler. Everything was perfect and we are glad we included this place as a part of our honeymoon stay!

Wonderful Ryokan - serene location with onsen which was fabulous . Good sized room . Staff were lovely and the full Japanese breakfast was ‘different ‘ but an amazing experience . Dressing gown , slippers and traditional clothing provided which added to making it a unique Japanese experience . Shuttle service to and from the station is also a big plus and extremely helpful.

This is the perfect ryokan experience. The room and private outdoor bath looked out onto a small garden and the forest.
We didn’t think my son would be able to use the onsen because he has tattoos but they said it wouldn’t be a problem and this made the stay extra special.

Experience culture authentically with a stay at this traditional Japanese-style accommodation. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
Koba and his team, the staff, were incredibly helpful and lovely people. The breakfast and dinner were truly organic, and the hot spring was so cozy, providing a relaxing atmosphere throughout our stay. I would confidently say that staying there was the highlight of our trip to Japan.
We loved the food! We loved the kindness of the owner! They put a lot of effort into making our stay comfortable. For example, when they saw that our 9-months old baby eats dinner with us, they made dishes just for him. They didn't seem to mind the mess that was left after a 9-month old eats by himself... Our son liked people in the ryokan, smiling at them a lot.
The onzen was very nice! The Wifi connection was very good too.
Our room was very big, which was comfortable when staying with a baby.
