After a beautiful hike hike from Arashiyama it was a warm welcome we received from Takao Kanko hotel. We loved our room overlooking the river, very clean, comfortable futons. The sounds of the river and nature. The included Japanese breakfast was delicious.

The reception greeted us with open arms and was exceptional nice! They insisted on carry our luggage in, which we felt bad for since our luggage was heavy... But they were so nice :,) they double explained everything to us about the baths and food. We were well informed and was clear about our stay. There was delicious snacks and tea waiting for us in the room and clothes we could change into. The size of the room was very nice and we had plenty of space for our luggage. Pretty green scenery around the Ryokan

Experience culture authentically with a stay at these traditional Japanese-style accommodations. Sleep on the floor (on a futon roll) in a room furnished with tatami flooring and sliding doors. Guests can often expect access to a communal bath, plus a complimentary Japanese garment called a yukata.
Koba and his team, the staff, were incredibly helpful and lovely people. The breakfast and dinner were truly organic, and the hot spring was so cozy, providing a relaxing atmosphere throughout our stay. I would confidently say that staying there was the highlight of our trip to Japan.
We loved the food! We loved the kindness of the owner! They put a lot of effort into making our stay comfortable. For example, when they saw that our 9-months old baby eats dinner with us, they made dishes just for him. They didn't seem to mind the mess that was left after a 9-month old eats by himself... Our son liked people in the ryokan, smiling at them a lot.
The onzen was very nice! The Wifi connection was very good too.
Our room was very big, which was comfortable when staying with a baby.
