Located 14 km from Oudtshoorn, De Opstal Country Lodge offers accommodation in a restored farm building, originally built in 1860. As soon as you drive into the De Opstal property you sense this is a different kind of place. The owners don’t just DO hospitality as a means to an end; they ARE hospitality embodied. It feels like it’s their life’s mission. De Opstal’s old charm accommodations are surrounded by magnificent flower gardens, fruit trees, and fields that are not over-manicured, rather reflective of the owners’ true love of nature and deep desire to create an environment for their guests that engages all their senses. The only downside was having to leave this slice of paradise.

Nestled at the foot of the Langeberg Mountain Range and surrounded by wineries, The Vineyard Country House features an outdoor pool, a sun terrace and patios overlooking the garden. Just lovely! Beautiful property, the owners are great, the room, the amenities, the drinks and snacks they have available (extra purchase), the location blocks away from restaurants, the breakfast well prepared! Don’t remember another place I stayed with such great cost benefit.

Located within 7 km of Rooiberg Wine Cellars. Olive Hill Guest House is let as a unit offering 4 air conditioned en-suite rooms, a fully equipped kitchen, lounge and dining room. Amazing nature and views, secluded place. Very clean and well equipped house. Nice fireplace to sit by the fire at night

We relaxed and absorbed the environment, the owners Trevor and Mandy showed us around the landmark hotel which they have recently renovated. Every room was a winner - we were impressed by their roominess and spanking new layout, Dinner was tender Karoo lamb chops and an fine Merlot. In the morning after an icy dip in the pool, we were treated to a sumptuous breakfast, freshly baked scones with butter, cheese, cream and jam followed by eggs and bacon on Ciabatta. My wife had the eggs benedict. There is a fantastic vibe at breakfast. Staff who know there jobs and management close at hand and overseeing all things smoothly.

Our accommodation was very good and the bonus was it’s dog friendly. The staff were really nice and friendly.
