The historic Grand Hotel Saltsjöbaden is located in the Stockholm Archipelago, a 20-minute drive from Stockholm city center. Breakfast catering, bistro/bar and the evening restaurant were fantastic. Really liked the food despite some negative reviews on the food. The gym was also very nice.

Set by a fortress from 1735, this waterfront hotel on Värmdö Island offers impressive views of Solöfjärden and the surrounding archipelago. We wanted a break from hard travel and are so glad we chose Fredriksborg. The rooms are very simple with a terrific outlook. The location is remarkable, on a hill above the deep water channel going in and out of Stockholm. The first time we saw a huge ship gliding by above eye level was a happy surprise. The dinner served at their restaurant was superb. But the best of all is the staff. They take great pride in the history of the location and its role in the defense of Stockholm in centuries past. Pontus (spelling ?) went out of his way to show us the property as well as to drive us to the ferry for the return to Stockholm. We were very appreciative.

This early 1900s property is in Nynäshamn, on Trehörningen Island. It offers spa treatments, panoramic sea views and fine dining. Stockholm city center is just 45 minutes’ drive away. The location of this hotel is just amazing, the facilities were excellent and relaxing in the spa was just what we needed after a long drive! We really enjoyed the location as it was lovely to walk along the waterfront and around the neighborhood and the rooms exceeded my expectations. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Smådalarö Gård Hotell & Spa is a unique and all year-round destination with curated experiences for all senses. Very nice and welcoming. Brought my family here and we didn’t want to leave. The rooms are big for Sweden and very comfortable.

Set in Stockholm’s beautiful archipelago, first-class hotel and conference center Fågelbrohus offers a historic setting in Värmdölandet, just a 35 minute drive from the center of Stockholm. Beautyfull place from inside and outside. Very clean rooms and surroundings. Helpfull and friendly staff. Breakfast was delicious and there is a big terrace/garden where to eat. We are happy to come back!

This hotel lies on Stockholm's archipelago coast, 656 feet from Saltsjöbaden Train Station. It offers free WiFi and private parking. The location never stopped surprising us. The artwork in the main building was an unexpected treat. The upstairs bar made me double check what we had actually paid for the stay because the decor and architecture was so luxurious - fit for a queen! The outdoor space with kayaks and bicycles were a lovely optional extra. There were deer in the forest and the sunsets (that last for hours in spring) over the water were incredible. The beds were lovely and floofy and the additional lounge area was wonderful to expand into after our smaller Stockholm hotels. The staff were also super chatty and gave us a lot of their time which we enjoyed immensely. There is also a parking lot outside where we could recharge our rental vehicle with an app to pay for the charge. We had a wonderful time and wish we had stayed there longer. We stayed for 2 nights, checked out and stayed for most of the day at the restaurant over looking the water and chatting.

This countryside hotel is on Värmdö Island, 25 minutes’ drive from Stockholm city center. Guests can enjoy fine dining, free Wi-Fi and free private parking. The location is beautiful. Quiet, peaceful. Kayaks and swimming right there. Staff is amazing. Breakfast spread is wonderful. Restaurant for dinner has amazing dishes. There are hiking trails across the road. You can take the bus to town if you want to explore or go to a different restaurant.
