Perched on a cliff facing the Atlantic Ocean, this designer hotel is in a renovated traditional farmhouse. Beautiful views, friendly and attentive staff, very nice breakfast. We were there at the beginning of January and were able to enjoy the outdoor pool and ocean views. We had a car (which we recommend so you have the freedom to explore the whole island) and there is free parking available below the hotel on the street with a lift up to the hotel. We will definitely book in again if we come back to Madeira.

This restored Madeiran mansion is located 2953 feet from Funchal's Old Town and has scenic views of the sea, the city and the mountains from its own botanical gardens and terraces. Everything about this property was amazing. The staff were wonderful, the rooms were spacious and clean, the location was perfect…. Close enough to walk into town, but far enough out of town that it felt peaceful and in touch with nature. Breakfast was excellent. Rooms were quiet and felt secure.
