I had an accident whilst there (whilst boating) and used hotel to recuperate until I could fly again. The staff were AMAZING, taking care, giving me room on bottom floor, carrying things for me, ordering taxi's and their sushi take in (so recommended, on par with the best Sushi restaurants in the UK) and also translating and writing documents for my stay in the hospital and return on the plane. Marija, Jelena, Valeska and Teodora made all the difference in the world and should be the standard for all hotels, they trumped it all by ordering me the cheapest taxi transfer I could find and changing the car so I'd be comfortable on the journey back. My room was spacious, scrupulously clean and serviced every day, with a well stocked fridge including chocolate and great TV's with choice of stations.

Kotor is a fantastic medieval town, but without the crowds. Its location at Kotor Bay and in front of Mt Lovcen is unparallelled. Take a walk up to Sveti Stefan fortress, preferably early in the morning, for magnificent views of the city and the bay from above.
Kotor är en pärla, turistisk men inte alls i lika hög grad som t.ex. Dubrovnik. Där finns fina restauranger med hyggliga priser. Det finaste tycker vi dock är naturen runt om, så vackert! Vi promenerade upp till Castle of San Giovanni, ett måste tycker vi. Det är ansträngande och kräver bra skor, men väl värt ansträngningen när man är uppe - utsikten mot Kotor Bay och bergen runtom är magnifik!
Hela Kotor Bay är vacker att åka runt och se. Särskilt de små byarna var mysiga att stanna i. De allra flesta var mycket hjälpsamma och gav god service. Maten är väldigt prisvärd och man bör prova deras färska skaldjur och fisk. Att sitta i solnedgången och se både havet och bergen som omger bukten är förtrollande vackert. Vattnet var kristallklart och rent. Det var fint att köra runt hela bukten och ta färjan till Tivat. Vi bodde utanför Dobrota, ca 5 km från Kotor. Det är en lugn plats och mycket trivsam. Att gå uppför muren i gamla stan i Kotor var en av de bästa upplevelserna, det är många trappor upp men värt den vackra utsikten på toppen. Vi åt den godaste glassen någonsin på ett torg i gamla stan som belöning. Det är enkelt att ta sig runt men kan vara lite svårt att hitta parkering om man inte är ute i god tid. Trafiken är lite hetsig, människor från Montenegro har en tendens att köra snabbt och har ofta bråttom därför gör de alltid omkörningar, så ha uppsikt. Utanför Kotor ligger en nationalpark med ett berg som heter Volcén, det en är vacker och hisnande väg upp och utsikten är fantastisk. Det tar ca 1,5 timme att köra upp från Kotor på grund av dess slingriga vägar.
My 3rd time in Kotor in 3 years. The fortress is awesome and a must to visit. Beautiful scenery and awesome old town. The city has become very touristy. Prices are high meals will cost alot compared to the rest of Montenegro still not as expensive as Dubrovnik though. It is still definetely worth a visit. I think 2 nights is enough to get a good look of the place. Climbing to the fortress I recommend to go off the main path and up to a terrace with a few windows in it. One window is larger and it is also the one to the right. Climb through that window in wall and down to the small very old church. Don't be afraid of the goats. They will not do anything to you besides look at you. You can also walk a bit further up the mountain side and visit a small "bar"run by a family that has fresh pomegranate juice. From here you will have spectacular views of the city and the fortress. If you feel like it follow the path on the hillside to the top of the mountain and get a great view over whole of Kotor bay (took me a good 60 mins). If you feel like taking a swim then go to Budva but don't swim in Kotor bay. It is a port and swimming is not recommended. You will see some people do but water is not good. For a younger crowd there is a huge nightclub by the north city walls. Great fun but bring earplugs. My ears were ringing for hours the next day.
