Location is excellent - walking distance from the station with connections to the airport or elsewhere in Java. Plenty of shopping in the main street nearby and many local options to eat (street stalls etc.) as well as within walking distance. The pool is not great so this is a hotel more for the location. Ample buffet style breakfast with numerous different options including vegan or vegetarian. The staff were wonderfully helpful and friendly. The spa is not bad and very reasonably priced but it is small so book ahead if not during the day.

I didn’t expect anything in the beginning with such budget price but after stayed, I think that this guest house must be the best in Java. I have lived in Indonesia for decades and I know what the quality of budget hotels are in Java, which are normally very dirty and staff never care the guests after checked in. This guest house offers free Nescafé.. this was the first time for me to see the Nescafé in budget hotel in Java. ( Normally budget hotel offers local coffee only) Nice surprise.

Lovely boutique type resort with all modern amenities. Loved the cottage I was in. Big and spacious. This was the at the end of the property. Away from the pool. Lovely to sit on the veranda and read. There is an homely atmosphere everywhere. Staff are very helpful. Food was excellent for me. I like Indonesian / Javanese food so was quite happy to have what was on the menu. They even went out of the way to prepare a local dish specially for me called "nasi liwet".

Best hostel we stayed in Indonesia so far. Brandnew, just opened in 2019 before the pandemic. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful with everything. They help you organizing everything e.g. the train tickets, the night trip to the Ijen crater (company „ijen.everyday“ only on instagram, price per pax 400k all inclusive). They also give you great recommendations for restaurants, what to do around Banyuwangi as well as the whole Java island

Location, Breakfast really nice! Javanese breakfast Indonesian breakfast western breakfast in one. It’s worth than the price. I’m also hotelier who work in F&B industry, i always take a look of many different types of breakfasts. But here, taste and price are balanced. Good taste good price. The staff was so kind and helpful. “This is Jogjakarta people attitude” front, restaurant, housekeeping, security their service were so superb.

Hotel is really well maintained with nice rooms and essentially a private beach out the back door. Didn't have time to see the turtles, but spent two nights relaxing and made a visit to the Green Bay thanks to the owner Hadi who took me on his motorbike. It's tough to get to, but it's a great place to break up a journey between Java and Bali or vice versa. Make sure you have your own transport or arrange pick up in advance.

Staff are friendly and always helpful. Especially those staffs in the breakfast room. Very polite and have great customer service. Food at the breakfast were all great and have so many variety. Really like the idea with serving traditional javanese healthy drinks "jamu" for breakfast, it brought me back to childhood memories. Also all of their sambals were great. Nice interior for the breakfast room as well.

One of the best hotels I stayed at in Java. Stayed 4 nights and was reluctant to leave. Stuff was friendly and it was nice to get a welcome drink and some welcome snacks in the room. Nice swimming pool with a garden. Excellent breakfast, with a choice of Western/Indonesian dishes and fruit. Relaxing massage in the hotel spa was very nice. Laundry service was quick and reliable. There are some nice cafes around.

My second visit and I will return again. The staff and service were outstanding making me and my family feel truly welcome. Beautiful hotel with the ambiance of old Java creates a warm, cultural experience. The hotel's location in the old city is ideal for anyone looking to explore the area on foot. The breakfast was delicious with a choice of Western and Indonesian dishes. Highly recommended!

Top-notch hospitality, all the staff were friendly and helpful. The Javanese architecture was beautiful. Overlooking the village and Borobudur temple. There were plenty of vegetarian dishes to choose from and they were delicious - though one dish marked as vegetarian had anchovies, not a problem for me and easy to separate from the dish. The Dadar Gulung - Indonesian coconut pancakes were delicious.

Everything was just great. The room is clean, reasonably spacious, and well equipped. Swimming pool has always been great since our first visit many years ago. Breakfast at Kemangi is superb. Many varieties including traditional javanese health drinks and cakes. Continental, american, asian, and indonesian breakfasts are available. Staff have been the strong point of this Hyatt. Very attentive.

This property is centrally located with lots of interesting shops and things to see in the area. Just outside the hotel you will find coffee shops and local students enjoying coffee into the evening. The people in this area  are very friendly, and we walked around at night with no issue. The staff were friendly but not overly attentive, par for the course at this price range in Java IMO.

Room was runned down. Light from the front door shines into the room throughout the night. Not enough power points at reachable areas to charge devices. Breakfast was a score of below 5. Overcooked plasticky fried eggs. Instant coffee?! This is Indonesia! There should be a decent cup of Java! Only saving grace is the staff and the monument right next to it! Great service!

Great hotel with exceptional service! The breakfast was a fantastic way to start each day. I particularly enjoyed the Jamu tasting bar, which provided a wonderful introduction to local cultural practices. The Javanese treatment at the spa was outstanding. This hotel was the perfect retreat for recovering from jet lag and kicking off our exploration of the city!

A perfect retreat in the Java Jungle. Rice fields beneath your villa. Remote and beautiful. We got free room upgrade. The breakfast was very rich. Like above 5 star hotel ! Friendly and useful stuff. Helped us with Ijen tour, private dish request, java chilly seeds, special tea request. Perfect location to took drone/camera field rice workers.

Great location, wonderful atmosphere and superb location quiet yet central in Bogor. Perfect place to land and get accustomed to Indonesia and only 1,5 hour drive from International airport. Owner is very responsive online, and can arrange next stays in other cities in Java and will arrange drivers as you require. Professional, friendly.

Sleepy Raccoon felt more like a home than a hostel, and Muk treated us like we’re family. Could not have asked for a better hostel for our first time in Java: cozy, well stocked kitchen, close to Malioboro, clean beds and bathrooms and extremely helpful staff. I will definitely be back at Sleepy Raccoon every time I’m at Yogyakarta!

The architecture and design are impeccable. It's a cool place to hang out. The tent itself was comfortable and modern. We appreciated the vegan options at the restaurant (Java is not easy for vegans). My partner liked the spa. They helped us with Ijen transport and pointed us to a local doctor for the Ijen health certificate.

The older house in Javanese style used to have good times of simple elegance (I have been coming here for years), within walking distance of two universities. a large swimming pool and a covered terrace contributed to relaxation. a tasty and rich breakfast buffet with emphasis on regional cuisine also convinces vegetarians.

The room and the traditional Javanese house pendapa and entrance is peaceful and soothing. I got a room in an annex so it was so calm. There was an abundant hot water to take shower. The staff is so kind. Ms. Itta is very caring. They let me use their fridge. I like the swimming pool as well although it is small.
