The Kings Head is situated in Whiteparish, 14 km from Salisbury Cathedral. Located around 17 km from Old Sarum, the hotel is also 20 km away from Salisbury Racecourse. Any pub B&B depends on the quality of the team running the business. Nikki and Patrick, ably assisted by their comedic breakfast chef, Lorenzo, ensured our stay was entertaining and memorable. The pub locals and their dogs were friendly too and played their part in the complete package. Hard to believe the team was only put together 6 weeks before our stay. Close to the New Forest. Go there!

Set in Avebury, 16 km from Lydiard Park, Elderbrook House offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. We stayed at Elderbrook House for a quick visit to the Avebury stones. We were welcomed and shown to our room even though we turned up well before check-in time. The proprietors are friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was filling and delicious. The property is only a few miles from Avebury. There aren't many accommodation options close to the stones so it is nice that this one is a gem. Would recommend.

Lucknam Park Hotel and Spa is a spectacular country-house hotel with Michelin Star dining. It is 9.7 km from Bath within a private 500-acre estate with a walled garden. The room was spacious and well-decorated. We has all the amenities we needed (robes, slippers, working TV, hair dryer, etc.). The hotel has plenty of activities, so take advantage! We did archery, horseback riding, went to the spa, at at the on-site restaurant, and played tennis (with rackets and balls they provided). It felt like such a genuine country-side experience and was simultaneously relaxing and activity-filled. Staff was wonderful and kind. We would absolutely return.
