Ghislaine and Philippe are there, should you need them for help or advice on where to go to and visit around “Les gorges de la Loire”. I knew nothing about those, quite a marvellous find! One of the rare places I experienced where I felt a slight pinch at the heart when leaving in the morning. Thank you Ghil and Phil, as Schwarzenegger would say “I’ll be back”

In the heart of the Auvergne, it's very much in the country. Great location for forays out into the beautiful countryside, where all the cows wear bells. The most amazing collection of Romanesque churches I never knew existed.
Saurier is a tiny town in the Auvergne. The hotel is also the local bar and restaurant. We stayed there on our way to Barcelona to have a break before the mountains. I think in summer there is a lot to do in the surroundings. It is beautiful for hiking and we would like to return for that.
Salers, located in a region of utterly outstanding natural beauty, in itself is a village that has emerged from medieval times, modernised yes, but none of its ancient charm has been lost. A spectacular village in which all the buildings are made of dark volcanic stone, one wanders its streets in awe. How brilliant were those men and women of centuries past who taste for beauty, functionality, and unique style, such is the constant remark one makes, strolling though this ancient yet modern town. Accommodations for an overnight stay are luxuries, and the fare at the restaurants totally faithful to the special gourmet delights of the Auvergne and Cantal regions of France.
Vic-sur-Cère
The setup consists of a separate house, with absolutely all amenities and features required for enjoying a home away from home vacation. The location is also great, within walking distance from the village center, as well as perfectly placed for hiking in the region, or visiting a neighboring farm, for some of the best cheese in France: Cantal, Salers or Blue D'Auvergne. Gorgeous surroundings, right in the middle of nature, with a tiny stream behind the house, added to the overall charm to an experience we will certainly repeat!
This hotel can only be described in superlatives, from the moment you are arrive the staff are cheerful and welcoming. a family run hotel, this is reflected in staff relationships. The room was spacious and conveniently located on the first floor with great views acrosss the auvergne; The evening meal was of high quality and very generous, questioning the need for a breakfast in the morning. Salers itself is a worthy venue and the hotel is located close to the entrnce to the village with good parking.
Issoire
We've stayed here before so knew what to expect and it did not disappoint. The apartment is roomy, light and airy. Bed is comfortable. Pictures of the apartment are accurate - what you see is what you get. The town centre is a short walk away for bars and restaurants. The provision of a washing machine is a real bonus. Parking is easy, free and a few short steps away. We only stayed one night but this would be perfect as a base to explore the Auvergne.
Everything was perfect, from the moment we entered the hotel, the smiling and nice receptionnist Majda and then Eric, the chef. It was our first time in Auvergne and it made us want to come back. Everyone was very helpful and always smiling. I will definitely recommend this charming hotel. Breakfast was super, had it on the terrace with the beautiful mountains view, Eric is making you pancakes and eggs with Love.
Hosts were very welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom bright and well appointed. The view from the room was a staggeringly beautiful panorama of the mountains. The hotel itself was charmingly old fashioned with a sense of art deco style. Dinner was excellent; the frites maison delicious. The village itself was outrageously picturesque, with lovely traditional Auvergne architecture.
We arrived rather late after the reception was closed, but no problem. The hotel had made a reservation for us at the restaurant, and first we we had a real 'Auvergne' meal, then the waiter gave us the key and walked us the 50 m to the hotel. Our room was at the first floor with a nice view to the basilisk. Small, but clean and comfortable. You can have breakfast, but we did not.
A lovely hotel in a beautiful location in the Auvergne. We were welcomed by the host who was very friendly and helpful. The room was large and the facilities were clean and comfortable. The room had a balcony with fantastic views to the countryside and mountains. The room was also very quiet. There was also plenty of outside parking available.
This was our second stay at the Midland. We stopped on the way going and back from the Auvergne, taking the train from Paris and renting a car at Vichy. We were very pleas;ed with the hotel on the way there, and were happy to be able to book a room on the way back.

This property is authentic and historical. However the interior is a stylish and contemporary.
Simply the best location in Vichy, between the parks and the the river. Beautiful lobby. Rather spacious room with the terrace. And of course, easy SPA access! Underground parking is 20 meters away. Hotel didn’t block any money on the credit card upon arrival (thank you for that!). Pet friendly.

Close to highway, ideal to stay overnight on long trip. Room is clean, service is good and quick. Big plus is that you can park the car right in front of the door of the room. Simple but good breakfast starting early in the morning (around 7AM). The room was in a good temperature.
It was right on the lake with lovely view. Staff were helpful and friendly and spoke English! Swimming pool was great asset for us and kids.
Well located, calm, clean, original.
