The Logis Royal St Mart is a lovely grand old hotel run by generations of the same family and carries this ‘Je ne sais quoi’ charm. We were warmly greeted, and the lovely lady (grand daughter of the founder) kindly gave us extensive and informative tips about what to do in the area which we appreciated greatly.
The bathroom was large and nicely renovated with both a shower and a bathtub; rooms were quiet.
Breakfast on the graveled terrace was good with local produce.
Parking felt very secure.
The hotel is walking distance from thermal baths and a one star Michelin restaurant. We did not have dinner there, but i am sure it would have been lovely.
A short drive from Clermont Ferrand and the Puy de Dôme, it is a practical location if you are a tourist with a car in the area. It has the capacity to welcome group (but i believe à bus would have to park elsewhere).

Hotel Le Châtel is a good place to stop for a night or two if you, like we, have a car and are using it as a base to explore the area. The area is very nice and scenic and there is a big, free, parking lot nearby which can support most kinds of cars.
Everything was clean, the staff are very friendly (English is limited, but you'll get on fine with even the most basic French) and the breakfast and dinner options (they have a restaurant with an evening meal) is excellent.

My stay was one night only but it was a charming hotel with excellent features. The room was quiet, comfortable and nicely appointed. Bed quality was great, which is very important to me. The price is reasonable. Best feature is the restaurant. I hate having to hunt down a restaurant for a short stay like this. Food and service was excellent!

Royat is an interesting spa with several establishments offering various water therapy. There is an excellent bus service throughout the town, with connections to Le Puy de Dome (a MUST-SEE) and Clermont-Ferrand. It is close to supermarkets, gas stations. There are many charming villages, abbeys, interesting drives around the volcanic landscape. One week is hardly enough.

Just a short bus ride from Clermont-Ferrand, it is actually much prettier. Everything is built on the hillside so the scenery is beautiful. There are restaurants with terraces with the most amazing views and it is a great jumping off point to get out to the hills and lakes. There is an excellent coffee shop Le Cintra by the supermarket , just by the car park and park. Highly recommend it for your morning coffee or for a charcuterie plate with a glass of wine, or a digestif on your way home.

Interesting town on the outskirts of Claremont Ferrand. Interesting facade to the hotel, there was a lift to all floors and the room was clean and tidy with a large comfortable bed.
Perfect for us. It was a Sunday so finally found dinner in the casino which was open. Parking was outside the hotel with limited private parking near the hotel. We had no problems parking at the front of the hotel and it felt quite safe.
Overall we enjoyed our stay.
We stayed here for 2 nights. We are a family of four- 2 adults, an 8 year old child, and a Jack Russell Terrier. This little apartment is GREAT value for money. Location is good right across from a bakery and close to Royatonic thermal spas (definitely recommend a visit there). Pet friendly.
