The excellent restaurant with stunning views across the Somosomo Straight is a highlight.

From the moment we arrived on Taveuni we were greeted by Aj our incredible, knowledgeable and kind Taxi driver who shuttled us to Paradise... I mean Vakananu Retreat. Upon arrival we were greeted by Grant, Sharon, their adorable pooch Moana and the Amazing Staff who serenaded us and presented us with traditional garlands. We were treated like family and felt at home the entire time we stayed, I can't understate just how welcome we were. Grant and Sharon have created a slice of heaven here on earth and this is reinforced by the admiration, respect and love that the locals and residents on Taveuni have for them both, they have put so much back into the community and uplifted everyone that they have come into contact with they are a prime example of "High tide raising every ship" in that their success is everyones. We would happily fly another 26hrs to stay here again. As a side note, thanks to the recommendations of Grant and Sharon my partner and I got engaged while here, we will always be eternally grateful to both of them for creating the perfect setting for love.

Coconut Grove Beachfront Cottages biedt accommodatie aan het strand in Matei op het eiland Taveuni. Elk huisje heeft een eigen zonneterras en het resort biedt massages op een privéstrand. Food was made with heart ❤️ The staff were amazing and felt like sisters. Was given an upgrade 😊

Taveuni Dive Resort ligt in de buurt van Soqulu, op 9 km van Waiyevo, en biedt een buitenzwembad en een restaurant. Er is gratis WiFi beschikbaar in de openbare ruimtes. As snorkelers, we weren't sure if we'd fit in at a dive resort, however, our concerns were completely unfounded. Heading out on the dive boat in the mornings and exploring the reef with a guide (while the divers explored other deeper parts of the reef) was exactly the experience we were hoping for. From the moment we checked in, we knew we were somewhere different to any other resort we'd stayed at. First and foremost, the staff are what make Taveuni Dive Resort so special. HIGHLY recommend the meal plan as the food is incredibly tasty and beautifully presented (besides, there's no kitchen in the bures, so cooking your own food is nigh impossible... and why would you want to!?). Speaking of bures, although no air conditioning, the dual fans were sufficient to keep us cool on the hot nights. Windows are all protected with mesh, so no issues with bugs. The shower was great (best in the afternoon when water is hottest). The king (maybe super king) bed was really comfortable. It was quite a novelty for us to have a turndown service! Starlink WiFi Internet is fast, but limited to the restaurant area. Cellphone reception is present, but patchy and slow data rates. For location, the resort is only a 15min boat ride from the reef. It's a 1.5hr drive to Lavena (one way) over some very rough dirt roads (the sealed sections are a blessing). The dive/snorkel outings are half day activities, so it's possible to do something else in the afternoon. The pool was great afterwards! Breakfast was selected the night before (at dinner) and had a good range to choose from. The breakfasts were excellent (as was all the food!). All meals are served at the restaurant. The staff catered for gluten free (banana bread was so good). Coffee, tea and filtered water was complimentary (dairy, soy and almond milk was available). Packed lunches can also be booked the night before to pick up at breakfast if heading out for the day.

Het luxe Taveuni Island Resort & Spa ligt op 4 hectare aan tropische tuinen, op 2 minuten rijden van Matei Airport op het eiland Taveuni. Everything was even better than we thought it was going to be . We definitely will be going back again next year as the resort , food , people were awesome ! Michelle and Butch

De Maravu Taveuni Lodge ligt op korte loopafstand van het strand Taveuni en biedt accommodatie met toegang tot het strand en een kleurrijk en levendig rif. Location was good, view of ocean good (tree house burre), clean and people very friendly
