Coconut Grove Beachfront Cottages offers beachfront accommodation in Matei on Taveuni Island. Each cottage has a private sun terrace and the resort offers massages in a private beach bure. Food was made with heart ❤️ The staff were amazing and felt like sisters. Was given an upgrade 😊

Offering an outdoor pool and a restaurant, Taveuni Dive Resort is located near Soqulu, 9km from Waiyevo. Free WiFi Access in public areas is available in this resort. As snorkelers, we weren't sure if we'd fit in at a dive resort, however, our concerns were completely unfounded. Heading out on the dive boat in the mornings and exploring the reef with a guide (while the divers explored other deeper parts of the reef) was exactly the experience we were hoping for. From the moment we checked in, we knew we were somewhere different to any other resort we'd stayed at. First and foremost, the staff are what make Taveuni Dive Resort so special. HIGHLY recommend the meal plan as the food is incredibly tasty and beautifully presented (besides, there's no kitchen in the bures, so cooking your own food is nigh impossible... and why would you want to!?). Speaking of bures, although no air conditioning, the dual fans were sufficient to keep us cool on the hot nights. Windows are all protected with mesh, so no issues with bugs. The shower was great (best in the afternoon when water is hottest). The king (maybe super king) bed was really comfortable. It was quite a novelty for us to have a turndown service! Starlink WiFi Internet is fast, but limited to the restaurant area. Cellphone reception is present, but patchy and slow data rates. For location, the resort is only a 15min boat ride from the reef. It's a 1.5hr drive to Lavena (one way) over some very rough dirt roads (the sealed sections are a blessing). The dive/snorkel outings are half day activities, so it's possible to do something else in the afternoon. The pool was great afterwards! Breakfast was selected the night before (at dinner) and had a good range to choose from. The breakfasts were excellent (as was all the food!). All meals are served at the restaurant. The staff catered for gluten free (banana bread was so good). Coffee, tea and filtered water was complimentary (dairy, soy and almond milk was available). Packed lunches can also be booked the night before to pick up at breakfast if heading out for the day.

Situated a short walk from Taveuni Beach, Maravu Taveuni Lodge offers accommodation with access to the beach and a colorful and vibrant reef. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. The hosts at Maravu are so incredibly welcoming and make an effort to call every guest by their name. The gardens and pool are beautiful, the food at the on-site restaurant is good quality and reasonably priced, especially at breakfast! Big shout-out to Rafa, who feels like the dad of the place and is so full of love for everybody, he immediately makes you feel like you are part of their family. He also loves his kava and music ;) I loved my time at Maravu and highly recommend it to all!

Camp Taveuni mempunyai kolam renang luaran, taman, restoran dan bar di Matei. WiFi percuma tersedia dan tempat parking peribadi boleh diatur dengan caj tambahan. Our stay at camp Taveuni was a highlight for us on a long term trip. Allen & Mary are really attentive hosts, always asking if we needed anything and Alan was happy to lend a hand booking activities or a ride to any guests if he was on his way into Matei. On top of that he maintained a really laid back atmosphere at the resort, being really accommodating with meals (and they were great and affordable! - If you’re diving, get the muesli with local yogurt :)) & happy to share a beer and a good story or two! He’s built the place himself, and our dome was like a much-needed oasis from the heat of the day and sounds in the night that might wake us (roosters…). The bath facilities were spacious and clean, with great water pressure in the shower. Clean drinking water was provided and the view from the pool is lovely (the place is on a hillside with sea views). It’s up a hill off the main road, but it only takes ~5 min or less to go up or down. We really loved our stay here and met some other great backpackers. Would highly recommend it, it’s excellent value. Thanks so much Allen & Mary!!
