Located in the centre of Sachseln, 200 metres from Lake Sarnen and the train station, the family-run Gasthaus Engel features a Gault Millau-awarded restaurant serving Swiss and international cuisine. This was a wonderful place. I recommend it highly. Be sure to have dinner, it was wonderful.

Situated right in front of the Melchsee-Frutt Cable Car, Gasthaus Waldhaus is a traditional guesthouse that enjoys a central position in Melchtal. The place is close to the cable car starting point. This building is the last building of the mountain range I guess. Staffs were good and friendly. Toilets were clean and perfectly maintained.

Located on the southern shore of Lake Sarnen, the historic Landgasthof Zollhaus is a traditional family-run property for 160 years. Welcoming and kind stuff, good breakfast, good location if you travel by car.

This elegant hotel is located only a 15-minute drive from Lucerne and a 2-minute walk from the train station. It offers modern wellness facilities, free parking and a large terrace. On my request I was given homemade vegan spreads for breakfast. Vegan breakfast in a hotel 10/10

Built in 1896 in the Art Nouveau style, the historic Jugendstilhotel Paxmontana, standing on a hill in a beautiful location in the Canton of Obwalden, has won many awards. breakfast was generous and full of options. eggs were only available after 9am due to internal meetings before..I thought that was rather unusual.

Overlooking Lake Sarnen, Seehotel Wilerbad is idyllically located between mountains and the lake, a 20-minute drive from Lucerne. The location is extraordinary. We were lucky enough to get a room on the 4th floor, where there is a shared terrace overlooking the lake. The view is incredibly beautiful. The room, although quite small, is very clean and the bed very comfortable. The hotel staff is extremely friendly. We recommend this hotel and we will definitely come back. :)

20 km south of Lucerne, with the Sarner lake and mountains right before the door, this hotel charmingly combines a historic building with modern styling and up-to-date facilities. The Property is very well situated and placed. Lake view is also magical. unfortunately i stayed only one night but wished i could have done more as i was traveling enjoying the gem of Switzerland so staying in different places. Breakfast was good, room well sized and amenities are good. Thanks for hosting us
