The host is very friendly and helpful, rooms are comfortable and look very nice. They have a cozy back yard to sit and drink beer and there is local craft beer available in the fridge for a reasonable price. It is a bit far from the town centre, but if you are able to rent a bike from somewhere in town then they have a big shed to keep it in. We have been there twice and it is really the perfect place to stay.

One of the best hotels experience ever! The place is decorated with great taste, they take special attention to details to provide a high end experience. The owner Wim will go to great lengths to make you enjoy your stay. The breakfast is amazing: home made yoghurt, home made jam, fresh squeezed orange juice, the eggs are made from the chicken they have at the back of the property. He will make the breakfast specially for you. The beds and pillows are super comfy and the hotel is fresh as new! I definitely recommend this place.

Located in a beautiful green park, La Butte aux Bois is a stylish hotel from 1924 with luxurious rooms and an elegant restaurant at the entrance of National Park Hoge Kempen. Very welcoming and comfortable. The staff went out of their way on both visits to make sure that my two small dogs and I were happy - the beds, bowls and treats for my dogs were much appreciated. My meals were truly delicious and as it happens, I had room service during my stay - all perfect and on time, including early breakfasts.
