Geel began as a pilgrimage place for those with mental illness in their families. It was a kind place of healing and the Legend of St. Dimpna brought pilgrims to the town, which is now a thriving and charming city of 40,000 people. For those interested in care for those with autism, mental illness, and Alzheimer’s, they provide an excellent public model of care—-all beginning with the kindness of the nuns in the 11th century! The Church of St. Dimpna is a must-see! We arranged a tour by asking at the very excellent Hospital Museum nearby. Everyone here was so helpful and kind.

Small friendly town with impressive main square. Of great interest regarding it’s history in World War 2 as a centre of force fighting in September.
Local people very friendly and hospitable.

Room had fridge ,cooker microwave we would definitely use this hotel again if in this area.
Breakfast was very good and people who work in this hotel was very nice with us. I like room, with 2 rooms and bathroom with tub and shower. Also we had one special request and hotel was very easy to satisfy it. Thanks for everything!
A very nice hotel with quiet rooms and a great breakfast. Good location for the centre of Geel which has lots of places to eat and drink. Parking on site was good
