Set on the banks of the Tugela River, 22 km north of Winterton, Tugela River Lodge features self-catering accommodation 13 km from Spioenkop Nature Reserve and 22 km from Winterton Museum. This was an amazing stop on our honeymoon. We were a bit unlucky with the weather as it rained both days, but it was a great place to disconnect from everything and relax. The property is very nicely appointed with everything you need to stay in and cook, amazing wildlife around the river. We did a hike and saw the giraffe’s in the adjacent park which was a highlight of the trip.

Situated in Underberg in the KwaZulu-Natal region, Birches Cottage & the Willows Garden Room features accommodation with free private parking. Duck and Elsabe are a beautiful couple. They have put some much love and attention to the place and also made us feel like home. We enjoyed their beautiful garden, so so special it was!! And after our stay they also helped us with the flat tires that we had. Really appreciate all the help and the stay. Thankyou very much 😊

Featuring a bar, Greenfire Drakensberg Lodge is located in Kruisfontein. The property is solar powered and offers Canadian-style log cabins. The scenery is really something else. You are already quite remote in this part of ZA but once they bring you up with the 4x4 the only people you will encounter are those on the premise itself. The staff is very friendly and the food is great. All in all great value and a very relaxing place with great views and hikes!

Montusi Mountain Lodge offers a bar and is located 44 km from Bergville. Guests receive free Wi-Fi access, a children's playground and a swimming pool. Magical setting in the Northern Drakensberg, luxurious, private, outstanding service. Food is outstanding with a different menu every night, restaurant has magnificent views of the mountains. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area , horse riding is highly recommended even for beginners.

On arrival, jacuzzi was hot and going, even Ice in the ice bucket!, Graham was an exceptional host!, They catered for us and the food was incredible proper home style food with lots of variety, highly suggest the catering. Cleaning staff are very thorough in their clean even dusting exterior windows and cleaning the entire deck around the place. Mopping all floors, honestly blown away by how well they do their job, big ups to them!!

Located in Nottingham Road, Gowrie Farm Golf Lodge overlooks a golf course and offers panoramic views of the dam and lush surroundings. It features a sun terrace and a bar. Everything was absolutely beautiful

The calm of the surroundings and the excellent service from the owner (and his interesting conversations and delicious whiskey blend)

Located just 8.2 km from Monks Cowl Country Club, Ondini Guest House features accommodation in Winterton with access to a garden, a shared lounge, as well as a shared kitchen. Excellent Host and accommodation in a beautiful area. The location is perfect, a little off for a very peaceful atmosphere. The house is huge and offers everything necessary for a great stay.

Offering an outdoor pool and a restaurant, Silver Hill Lodge is located in Mooirivier. Free WiFi access is available in this lodge. Extras include bed linen and ironing facilities. Fantastic cosy location. Great and friendly service from each and every single staff member. Treated us as family. All meals were of great home cooked quality. Common areas were very warm and comfortable especially with a two year old in toe. Rooms were exceptionally clean. Comfortable beds with blankets/underfloor heating keeping us warm as it snowed during the night. Back-up generator helped during those load shedding hours - powering the entire lodge. An ideal place to escape for a few days of rest and relaxation.

Overlooking the Spioenkop Game Reserve, Three Tree Hill Lodge offers luxury accommodation. It features a sun deck next to an outdoor swimming pool. There are hiking trails and guided tours available. The staff are amazing and so accommodating and friendly. The location is spectacular- overlooking spionkop and you can see the Drakensberg mountains on the other side. Very family/kid friendly with toys and games in our cabin. Food was incredible too Absolutely loved our stay and would recommend and come back again
