The room is lovely and Allie was really nice to introduce us to her sheep and chicken.

Flying trout boutique lodge is one of the most beautiful places I have stayed in the world . We had a lovely suite upstairs with a panoramic view of lake Taupo . Breakfast is wonderful and Karen will insure you are pleased with everything served . Rob is helpful with area info and a few nights he drive us in to town for dinner . We would definitely stay at this charming lodge again - treat yourself if you are in lake Taupo

The Lodge is absolutely lovely, incredibly comfortable beds, spacious rooms, wonderful ensuite wiht bath tub that has views, grounds are beautiful. the entire team is freindly, helpful and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. It's an elegant and refined choice with a personal touch thats not found in large hotels. The breakfast was perfect, fresh, quality, beautifully cooked, stunningly presented and the coffee is also great. The location is lovely, quiet, relaxing and picture perfect.

Nina did everything possible to make our stay very pleasant. Breakfast was perfect, as well as the dinner when we had it at the Chalet. The wine is very good also. For our Tongariro treck, Nina prepared everything to take away and eat. We felt like home, discussing any kind of subject with Nina. As a coincidence, there is even a Cartier-Bresson black & white picture of our countryside in Seine-et-Marne (France) in Nina's living room. If we go back to NZ, we will have a stop at the Chalet Eiger.

Tongariro Lodge is located in 22 acres of secluded grounds, surrounded by a beautiful garden landscape and along the banks of Tongariro River. A cosy place to stay. Near the Tongariro river and surrounded by birds singing. We had an excellent time to relax there. I also highly recommend the restaurant. The meat was perfect, and the cheesecake was exceptional. We will return.
