Fantastic location in Asakusa close to temple, markets and subway system. Room facilities spacious and clean. Didn’t really see reception staff as not based on ground floor but no issues for them to deal with as all was perfect.

We loved the location. One minute from a train station and 7 Eleven. Very quiet neighborhood but close to many shops and restaurants in Asakusa. The beds were very comfortable, the staff was wonderful, and it was so convenient to have a kitchenette in the room (although we only used the tea kettle and refrigerator). And it had a washer/dryer unit! I also loved the shower. It was great that the shower, sink, and toilet were all in separate rooms making it easy as a family to share the space. I believe it’s a new property and it has an elevator!

I liked this temple and surrounding garden and shrines a lot. We came back twice, as we wanted to experience the atmosphere during the evening as well. Just like everything in Japan, it can be extremely crowded during the day, I am talking about masses and masses of tourists but if you get up super early, you can beat the crowds.

Absolutely overrun by tourists during the day, even off-season. If you're really interested in this place, please make sure to learn about local customs, keep in mind that this is a place of worship, and then come here in the early morning to see what it can be like.
Don't be a dick. Respect that people actually come here for praying, and try not to shove your phone into their faces as they do.

Give yourself time to explore the market and shops nearby.
Give yourself time to explore the market and shops nearby. Take an opportunity to stay in the Temple complex and soak up the culture, so many visitors are in there traditional Kimonos and formal wear as this is a 'working' temple, so beautiful.

Asakusa, where the Sensoji Temple is located, is one of our favourite areas to explore. Kappabashi Street, is a colourful street of beautiful kitchen knives, bowls, tea & sake cups, kitchen goods, and more. Beyond the main roads, its feels very livable and comfortable, with small local shops to discover.

The oldest temple in Japan I read (or maybe the oldest Buddhist temple in Japan). A beautiful temple complex and one of the prime sights of Tokyo. I was lucky enough to be staying a couple of minutes walk away, so walked through it or past it every day of my stay.

The Kaminarimon Gate and temple grounds are always open so when it's HOT and HUMID during the day, we visited many of these during the twilight and evening hours. Many are well lit and beautiful at night. Or early mornings!
I stayed at Asakusa Ryokan Toukaisou for 4 nights. The accommodation was very easy to find from Tawaramachi station and is very close to Sensoji temple and Nakamise shopping street. The accommodation itself had everything necessary with a comfortable bed, complementary tea and a good hot shower. Finally, the staff was very friendly and helpful - they even received a parcel from amazon on my behalf during my stay. I would definitely recommend Asakusa Ryokan Toukaisou if you want to have easy access to the Asakusa area in Tokyo.
Loved the ease of being directly transported from airport limousine bus service. The rooms were exceptionally large and we had the best views of Skytree, Sensoji Temple and Sunrise! Mt Fuji is also visible from the elevator lobby area. Sensoji temple is a 5 minute walk and there is various 7-11s, eateries and train stations within walking distance of Asakusa View Hotel. The staff was very polite and helpful in getting us taxis and answering any questions.
Walking distance from the Sensoji temple. Easy metro ride to Ueno Park and Akihabara. Although the apartment is very small, there was organized space for unpacking and keeping your clothes and toiletries.
Very close to the train station, next door is Ichiran and 7-11. Walking distance to Sensoji Temple and the shopping area. If you have big luggages, the exit from the train with elevator is A2B which is 3 traffic lights away. But if you have no luggage, the hotel is just a skip and a hop away from the station. Location is very convenient.
The main selling point of this hotel is its location. From this aspect, the value is unmatched as you are basically getting a room in a hotel in one of Tokyo’s main tourists hubs.
It’s conveniently located a short walk from Sensoji Temple, Donki and located nearby a myriad of shopping streets and restaurants.
