Conveniently situated in the heart of Chiang Mai City, Villa Thapae is less than a 3-4 minute walk from Sunday Walking Street and Thapae Gate. The design of the hotel is great, a mini jungle with a pool in the middle. It's on a back road so the noise isn't too bad and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Laundry service was great, all amenities in the room worked and the open-air shower in my room was a nice novelty.

Rooms were great, good air-con and spacious with a fridge Ideal location, 7-eleven round the corner and walking distance to all of the old town

Great location on the edge of town it's really quiet but we could cycle to Maya Mall, Fashion market and Angkaew Reservoir in about 10 minutes. Their are lots of varied eating options locally from 50 baht Thai to top notch European cuisine. Check Google Maps, you won't be disappoint! The staff are delightful and the 'Boss Man' had perfect English and could not have been more pleasant or helpful. Rooms are really comfortable. Beds are European style medium firm the balcony is beautiful, plenty of electrical sockets with desk and table for two. Coffee making in room, separate kitchen facilities. Really nice bathroom with hot and cold water. There is a full size swimming pool within walking distance at Centre of the Universe. They had 2 bikes and we cycled everywhere we wanted and had a really relaxed stay. This part of Chiang Mai is clearly where the well off locals live. It's absolutely beautiful with fields and mountain views. We felt totally safe walking and cycling. Crazy good value for genuine European 3 star room facilities in 4 star location. I think they also do monthly rates for those seeking an AirBnB alternative.

Detta boutiquehotell i Chiang Mai erbjuder rymliga rum med fönster från golv till tak och gratis Wi-Fi. Här bor du 5 minuters promenad från norra porten och 10 minuters bilresa från Doi Suthep. Owner is a superb host. I would definitely stay again at her place when I visit Chiang Mai again. The house and the room are absolutely clean, it was the first time ever I felt so good to walk barefoot in Thailand, where most guesthouses we remove our shoes.
