Forget a time where you could expect to stay in a room or even a suite, for here at The Governance we take pride in providing exclusive boutique apartments in full to our guests. This boutique aparthotel is set in the former town councils offices in the heart of Lake District, you can expect a stay as luxurious and unique as our setting, as well as discrete and private at every turn. It’ll be easy to sink into the comfort afforded by our glamorous accommodation, for the building itself is distinctive in its appearance its was built originally as a gentleman’s residence in true lake district grandeur of its day with turrets and steeples and fantastic detail in ever fibre if its being. The property was also residence to Arthur Tuckers family the famous lake District artist whose brother was actually a politician.

With Lake Windermere and all its attractions such as Peter Rabbit and Cruises are a mere 3 min taxi ride. Very close to the train station and tourist offices. The comfort of your stay will expand further out from just the grounds of the property itself, for The Governance finds itself nestled in the heart of the vibrant shopping district and conservation area of the Windermere Boasting high-quality restaurants and bars offering drinks and cuisines from all around the world, unique shops to peruse no matter your style and noted events and landmarks around the area, it’ll be impossible to find yourself at a loose end of how to enjoy yourself. But if you fancy a quiet night in enjoying all that the apartment has to offer, we recommend that too – for you can enjoy your own, fully fitted, private designer kitchen with induction hobs and granite worktops in whatever way you see fit.
