We live onsite at Lake View Country House. We are devoted Lake District lovers ourselves, and we are delighted to welcome guests to this beautiful part of the English country-side. We get out in the fells to walk as often as we can, and we enjoy recommending our great local walks suitable to equipment and experience. We have our own young family, which means we are a treasure-trove of fantastic things for families to do nearby, whatever the weather.

We are right in the heart of the Lake District National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lake View Country House has five spacious bedrooms and three self-catering apartments with mini-kitchens. We have an acre of dog-friendly gardens, and a private access to Grasmere Lake. All of our stylish rooms are en-suite, have super fast WiFi, and Smart TVs. We have several rooms suitable for larger groups and families. Our latest - and very popular - addition is an infrared sauna, free to use for house guests. Our guests enjoy a 10% discount off food & drink at The Good Sport, which is very close by. If you fancy breakfast: enjoy proper coffee with a traditional Full English breakfast, as well as vegetarian and healthy options. Lunch & dinner are served from noon. The Good Sport is the tap-room for Grasmere Brewery and Distillery - which is based at Lake View. Tours of the distillery are available to be booked. All of our rooms are dog-friendly, as is The Good Sport, and there is no additional charge for dogs. Please note that we offer both room-only and breakfast-included rates, leaving you free to choose how much breakfast you want and where to eat it. To be clear, our normal practice is for guests to pay a 50% deposit shortly after booking, with the balance payable about a week before arrival. This does not in any way affect your right to a full refund if you need to cancel more than a month before arrival.

Soak up the tranquillity here in England's largest wilderness. We are situated in a beautiful and quiet location, at the end of a private lane, but very close to the centre of Grasmere village. There's no need to get back into your car once you are here. Grasmere has a huge array of walks, accessible from our front door, and suitable for a range of ages and abilities. There are fascinating cultural sites - such as Dove Cottage and the Wordsworth Museum, just 5 minutes walk away from us. The village itself has a great selection of shops, tea-rooms and fabulous restaurants. There are also plenty of things to do for little ones. It really is the best place to stay in the Lake District!
