Well set in Kandy, Funk Bunks - By The Lake provides air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, free private parking and room service. The value you get in this property is the best so far I've had for a hostel/dorm. It came with free breakfast and dinner! It had hot water, AC and free towels. Although the facility itself is not "vibey", it is clean and comfortable located in a safe and pretty accessible from the main area/city center. You also do get to meet other people as dinner and breakfast are served along with other guests.

Really great value for money! The host Jude was fantastic! Really enjoyed my time here. It is located 10-15mins outside of the city centre and is cheap to tuk tuk to!

Our stay here was a dream :) We arrived late but we were welcomed wonderfully. We talked for a while and had a wonderful deeptalk session with our lovely host. She has an amazing energy and makes you feel at home and at peace :) The room and the rest of the homestay were decorated beautifully with much love put into every detail. The room was so cozy and comftable and the view in the morning into nature is just beautiful. We are grateful for such an amazing stay - thank you very much <3 We wish we had more time to stay longer and could have experienced the cooking class!

Located in Kandy, Catch The Ella Train Hostel is 500 metres from Peradeniya Railway Station, 1.1 km from Kandy Royal Botanic Gardens and The property is 19.1 Km to the Ambuluwawa Tower, 8.2 km from... Proximity to Peradeniya Railway Station (500m, less than 10min walk) is beneficial for those staying for Ella train boarding. I was unable to reserve a ticket as train was fully booked, arrived at station 5min before boarding, purchased ticket and secured a seat in unreserved carriage, no problems! However, this certainty shouldn’t be the only motivation for staying. A kind greeting by the humble owner, Asanka, was a warm welcome to the property. Respectful, intelligent and intuitive host who creates and maintains a safe and comfortable environment – valued as a solo female traveller. Asanka was more than happy to share his expansive knowledge on all aspects of Sri Lanka and speaks excellent English, a fantastic opportunity to learn. Warmly decorated and well-maintained property. Spotless linen which is professionally cleaned. Large, shared bathroom was clean, towel and soap provided. Asanka also maintains a beautiful garden with various plants and fruits, lovely space to listen to the birds away from busy Kandy city. Location close to stunning Buddhist temple, local eateries, supermarket, Royal Botanical Gardens (with diverse range of flora – and gentle monkeys), hospital, university and public transport. Quick bus (or tuk tuk) ride is easy to access if needing to visit Kandy centre. However, the Peradeniya area had everything required. I was unwell upon arrival, Asanka was caring and compassionate, providing advice to access healthcare, healing medicine and drink in the morning (in addition to breakfast). Breakfast of local cuisine was delicious, cooked by his Aunties. Whilst I didn’t require dinner I noted this could be an option if required. Host made contact upon booking providing valuable advice on options for arrival and was happy answer ongoing questions after the stay. Please support Asanka and the Peradeniya area! And give the beautiful dog ‘Roy’ a big love – he visits in morning with Aunties!

Boasting a garden, shared lounge, terrace and free WiFi, Banana Bunks Kandy is situated in Kandy, 2.3 km from Kandy railway station and 2.6 km from Kandy City Center Shopping Mall. Very nice hosts. Always helpful and very polite. Breakfast was good and dinner too. Yoga area is great.

The staff at the reception were so nice and helpful, they guide me about my plan what is worth to visit and how can I travel between cities, moreover, they offered me a free dinner on my first day arrival. The room and my bed were clean and the washroom as well. The vibes everywhere is accommodating and welcoming. In nutshell, I loved the experience there and I would recommend this place. The view outside the hostel is stunning.

White Rose Hostel is offering accommodation in Kandy. Around 500 metres from Bogambara Stadium, the property is also close to Kandy City Center Shopping Mall. I loved staying here, the entire was so friendly and helpful. They had many great suggestions of places I should visit in the area and where to eat. They always helped me plan out my day and guided me to which buses I should take. The room was very comfortable and clean.
