I only stayed for one night, but the hostel made a great impression on me - staff were very kind and helpful, I was allowed to store my belongings at the reception before the check-in. Notably, the hostel is very clean and quiet. Showers and toilets are comfortable to use. My bed was rather pleasant and allowed me for a good night sleep. Each bed had two outlets and a small light next to it. There was also a cabinet for each person in the room (you have to bring your own locker). For the breakfast I chose the continental option (pastry, cereal ect.) and was satisfied.
There is also a communal kitchen and a TV room available for the residents.
Obviously, the location is great :)
Overall, I had a great experience and would definetly stay again!

Overlooking the Wensleydale countryside, the hostel is just 7 minutes’ walk away from the Pennine Way National Trail. Hadn't stayed in a hostel for a while, but the facilities were very decent in this one. Had a solo room, although without en-suite facilities. The Eastern European lady behind the front desk was fantastic, and couldn't do enough.

The evening meal was tasty and filling and good bottled beer available. The bed was comfortable and the shower very clean and powerful. The setting of an interesting building could not be bettered. Staff friendly and atmosphere the most genuinely relaxed I've experienced. Lots of books to read and local information.

Amazing beachside location with stunning views and cliff side walks.. Clean and friendly atmosphere with happy staff and visitors.. Good value food and drinks in the on site cafe/bar. As Youth Hostels go I think you would be hard pressed to find a better one anywhere in the UK.. You could leave belongings in a locked shed with a security code if you arrived before check in time which was handy.
The location was perfect. We booked on the day due to the good weather forecast and drive straight over to Boggle Hole. Once we arrived we didn’t need to leave for anything, everything we needed was available at the youth hostel.
Excellent stay, great staff that could not have been more helpful, wonderful evening meals and breakfast, very comfortable room. Yes there is some traffic noise but that's inevitable given the great location, and not a problem. Car park opposite is convenient and cheap.
Great location, cheap and safe parking available close by, lovely breakfast and kind and attentive hosts. Highly recommended.
Great location and felt safe
Loved the decor and feel of the hotel. Very modern and unlike a lot of the tired scarborough hotels. BUT felt a little like a youth hostel- Self check in, no one to ask for info, restaurant advertised to be open from 4pm as concert night but staff weren't aware and said it was 5pm; a bit disjointed. Rooms were lovely compared to others I've stayed in and only 30 mins walk from the outdoor theatre.
Amazing views. Spacious luxury shower. Yummy homemade treats provided by the hosts. Safe parking. Great location.
Great location, very friendly and helpful staff. All in all it had a very "youth hostel" feel, which is to say a variety of friendly and chatty guests with plenty of people here for the outdoors. People should note the distance to the car part and pack accordingly, also that the walk to Robin Hood's Bay is fine for people who are reasonably fit, but those who are unfirm will struggle.
Boggle Hole is one of the best hostels I have stayed at, in the UK or anywhere! It's in a stunningly beautiful location, right on The Cleveland Way (so we could hike there), and everything about the place is just perfect! They do hot food in the evenings (including a vegan option) and have a PROPER bar there, which more than compensates for the lack of facilities in the immediate area. Staff were friendly and helpful, and it's so cheap to stay! I'm gonna try to visit the area again just so I can go back to Boggle Hole!
The place was so grotty we didn’t want to risk breakfast - the room had dirty finger marks over the walls and the bathroom tiles were dirty the whole floor was tired and like a poorly kept youth hostel rather than a £170 a night hotel - I come from a hotel background and it was the worst Value for money hotel I had ever stayed in . The bedroom furniture was old and cheap looking. The water was warm but not hot. Thank god for the sea and sands to escape out of the grim place to.
