Basecamp Wales offers family-run hostel accommodation in Llanllyfni, on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park and 30.3 km from Pen-Y-Pass and 8.2 km to the beach at Dinas Dinlle. A great location which was quiet and clean. The staff were friendly, showed us around and told us some local sites to check out. They rooms have plenty of space and somewhere to put your bag.

The location was fantastic, minutes walk to a pub for dinner. We had the top floor and the views were amazing. The bathroom was a great relief as it was a good size, clean and everything worked.

Kings is a self-catering hostel, not a hotel. It was perfect for a large family group that included lots of small children. Communal cooking and washing up worked well, the lounge and books went down a treat, the football table was a success & the grounds, outdoor fire & bbq all proved memorable for the several related families that shared the stay. Dave (owner) provided friendly & discreet support that proved essential during an area-wide power failure.

Placed at the foot of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), the YHA Snowdon Pen-y-Pass is surrounded by stunning Welsh landscape in a rural location, with no mobile phone signal - offering guests a break from... Fantastic location, very friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast which was well worth the money and great fuel for the hiking! 5 stars!

The bunk rooms had what you needed. Loved the cocktail lounge in the basement in the evenings. The staff were the absolute best.
