Located in Dolgellau, within 42 km of Portmeirion and 26 km of Castell y Bere, Kings provides accommodation with a garden and free WiFi as well as free private parking for guests who drive. Kings is a self-catering hostel, not a hotel. It was perfect for a large family group that included lots of small children. Communal cooking and washing up worked well, the lounge and books went down a treat, the football table was a success & the grounds, outdoor fire & bbq all proved memorable for the several related families that shared the stay. Dave (owner) provided friendly & discreet support that proved essential during an area-wide power failure.

Placed at the foot of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), the YHA Snowdon Pen-y-Pass is surrounded by stunning Welsh landscape in a rural location, with no mobile phone signal - offering guests a break from... How well the place is organized, how welcoming and helpful are the staff and how conviently equiped the hostel is. (And partucularly we liked Samy, the receptionist.:)

He was hospitable and friendly. He was able to accommodate us we'll, and even was empathetic to our needs. The room was great, and we enjoyed the amenities and breakfast. Wonderful stay, we would come back!
