This place was truly terrible.
There are so many reasons and here are a few in detail:
1) the door handles are all installed at the wrong angle.
Ok, so basically each room doesn't have a key, but a pint number you can enter on the handle. However some idiot builder has installed them all horizontally rather than vertically so they are very difficult to use.
2) Room size
We had a double bed as advertised. However the double ed was a very small one, a queen size at best. But that is not the worst, there is less that 30 cm, 1 foot between each side of the bed and the wall. It is just too small to be practical. We banged our toes, ankles, shins and knees all the time... In just one night I have so many small bruises.
3) cockroaches.
We saw one on the stairs and one in the room (which I killed). I will attach a photo.
4) price... 100 pounds 110 euro for this infested too small room is just really unfair.
Avoid!

I am giving this property a 10 because it deserves it. It is budget accommodation which tries very hard to anticipate guests’ needs. It is clean, great location for ferry, has a small balcony, a fridge, kettle, bottled water, tea, tv, fan, shampoo!
Los Cristianos isn't for everyone, but it has many plus points.
Cheap, vibrant, warm in winter, safe, friendly, sandy beaches...
The Paloma Beach Apartments are close to all the "attractions" and noise, but just far enough away to be quiet and relaxing.

Happily surprised after a previous not-so-glamourous stay at the same hostel: I discovered they had another floor which was much better than the dark garage-like dormitory of the previous time. This time it must be very bright (I was there only at night) with large bay windows overlooking the busy beachfront street. The bathroom was very spacious and surprisingly clean. It definitely helped that I had the dormitory all to myself. Still probably more for the individual backpacker.
