However on the day of our departure we were waiting for our pickup in front of this beautiful homestay and the owner and family said hello to us and during our conversation they identified us as the ones who were no-show . She immediately said she will not charge us even a single dollar although we never informed them about out intention not to stay there. Although we insisted she refused to charge us. She also guided us to the right spot where we should waiting . It in deed was the greatest display of dignity , generosity , warmth and kindness during our entire trip . if I ever get a chance to go to CatBa again , without a second thought , this homestay is where I am going to stay ! You do need a scooter to get around. Owner is super helpful and knows good English. Also the tours and bus tickets are super reasonable. They serve good food, too.
