Phuong is an exceptional hostess. She and her husband are welcoming, kind and helpful. This is one of those home stays that I wanted to stay forever. The rooms look out directly onto a beautiful lake with a limestone formation above. It felt like paradise. The room is spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. Phuong and her husband’s hearts of gold dutifully looking after their guests are just the icing on the cake 🎂

This was my 2nd time staying at Catba Papillon, and still I have no complaints. The resort is located slightly further from the main town where most of the activities are but it was perfect for us as we were looking for a place to relax in nature, and to hang out by the pool. The place also provides rental bike or transit at a good price so getting to town was not an issue. The staffs at Papillon has been more than helpful, catering to our requests for the room and additional asks. The facilities are quite new, nice and clean. I would highly recommend Catba Papillon if you are looking for a quiet place to have a slow time and relax in nature.

The staff went above and beyond during our stay. Although, there was a language barrier for us - Google Translate helped us communicate, but again, they truly went above and beyond.
We opted to have dinners cooked for us - and they made a large variety of options.
Most of all, nothing compares to the incredible view - especially for the morning coffee.
Communication from the host is very quick - he arranged our private transfers with no problems.

The matron of the household went out of her way to cook us a late breakfast and check in on what we wanted to eat. The place was conveniently located. AC worked really well. They gave us an upgraded room without an extra charge.

Linda is amazing! Everything you need, she would deliver. Definitely take the halong bay tour through the homestay, its an amazing tour done by locals. If you have the chance to do the family dinner, definitely do it. A trip to the caves and the park is also a great activity. If you do not want to do the scooters Linda can arrange a private cab.
CatBaCorner is a lovely small set up with recently built rooms, a view on a pond and absolutely outstanding welcome and service by owner Phuong.
The room is large enough, the beds comfy, sitting area outside etc. All simple, but tastefully done.
Everyday another breakfast, all yummy. Phuong arranged our laundry, a scooter and tips where to eat/ go as well as our bus ride to Ninh Binh. She is the most lovely host there is!
The homestay is a short 5 minute scooter drive from the busy town center.
Very nice homestay in quiet, beautiful area. It's a bit remote, but with the motorbike it's very easy to get around. Especially the entry to the National Park trails is very close by.
Super nice host family, spacious and well equipped room (wardrobe and a very good hairdryer, ac, bathroom amenities, ...) and good food in the restaurant! And many cute animals around ;) We enjoyed our stay here so much, that we stayed 2 nights more than originally planned, cảm ơn!

Rented a bike from them and had laundry done, all went smoothly. We liked the location as it was quieter and among the locals. Means there is a short walk to the center, 10 minutes down a hill.

Homestay is a little bit outside the city (about 15min) but you can rent a motorbike or take the local bus.
The beach next door is really nice, has a small local bar and the locals are making a lot of effort to clean it !

It was in a great location and one of the cleanest places we stayed in Vietnam. The host family were amazing helping us with information about the island, pick up and drop offs and booking our bus back to Hanoi. My husband and I did the cooking class with Tam and it was fantastic. We rented a scooter from the Homestay to tour around the island and had delicious breakfast and dinners outside on the roof top with a view of the mountains.
Perfect homestay about 15 minuten from Cat Ba town. Linda is a great host and can arrange everything for you around the island. We rented a scooter, booked a boat trip and did our laundry.
Breakfast is fine. Lunch and dinner are good and prices are low.
Last but not least: great pool for cooling down
Linda is such a lovely host, going out of her way in helping you. The Homestay is lovely, surrounded by a beautiful garden. We loved that the location is in a quiet area. It is easy to get around by scooter.
This is a really lovely Homestay, we felt very welcome into their home and the family are very kind. The breakfast was great too!
The location is a walk away from the main part of town, but we enjoyed it as it felt more like a locals area, and there were good restaurants and bars round there.
