The room was spacious enough and we had a big window facing the valley. The sunset and the morning views are incredible there. And because of the isolated location it so quite there. Except the room there is also a place outside in the property to sit and enjoy the wine and the views. The host gave us a taste of their own wine and port and we also asked for the breakfast (additional price). Wow, you definitely must have it! Aurora made us a wonderful breakfast. Everything on the table came from their own garden. And the view from the balcony (where we ate) is amazing.

It is a bit of a journey to get there on windy single-lane road, but once you get there it is such a tranquil, spectacular location. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable. We did a tour and tasting and the port was lovely and the staff very helpful and friendly. We had a dinner prepared for us and ate on the balcony during sunset, it was delicious and very fresh (we requested a vegetarian meal). The shared spaces (kitchen, lounge area, balcony) are very comfortable, stylish, and inviting. There is an honor bar with beer, wine, port, and soft drinks which is a very nice touch. Finally, the pool is spectacular! An amazing place, I highly recommend!

Solar de Santa Maria offers accommodation in Bragança, in a 17th-century manor building, in the heart of the old town, 75 metres from the Castle's gardens. It has a garden with cloisters and features free WiFi. This is a 300 year old with many original features still functional. Our room was spacious and quiet. Access to the garden provides a very calming break from the rigours of traveling. Something similar is available on the first floor. The staff are very pleasant and eager to help. It is very centrally located. Braganca is very laid back and understated compared with other Portuguese cities.
