We loved it there.

My stay at Hidden Lake Cottages exceeded my high expectations! The actual villa with my own private pool was such a peaceful retreat right in the center of sigiriya but the incredibly kind and helpful owners, Mahesh and Chandhi really made it the most easy and comfortable experience. Before I arrived they arranged for a driver to pick me up from Colombo for the best price around, so my arrival couldn't have been smoother. Our diver Aigith was so reliable and helpful and we used his services every day. I highly recommend staying at least 3 nights and having Chandhi serve you her spectacular homemade meals poolside. We much preferred her meals to the restaurants. You do not need a plan before you get there because they will arrange things for you but this is what I did and it worked out perfectly: Day 1 airport pick up, swim in private pool hike pidurangala rock at sunset, come back and have dinner poolside. Day 2: sunrise at sigiriya rock and go to Dambulla cave temples and have lunch and dinner poolside. Day 3: Go to Anuradhapura and come back for snack and then dinner poolside. Day 4: Have an amazing breakfast and try not to cry when you check out after having such an amazing experience. I have been all over the world and this place really stole my heart. You will not find a more beautiful place that will take better care of you, especially at such a low price. I tipped a lot because I felt like they could have charged a lot more. Very kind, helpful and honest people that are willing to help you with anything at all.

Really helpful and welcoming host - he also recommends us some interesting places and activities - all we have to do was jump into tuk-tuk 😀 it's good start spot for Pidurangala and Lion Rock - the house is placed 1.5 km far from the Sigirya city center. He prepared a delicious breakfast, gave us a tea and spent a lot time with us just telling a stories about Sri Lanka. It was a precious time!

The owners are very sweet and incredibly attentive. They helped us order tuk tuks, spa treatment (can recommend Spa Serandib) and an amazing elephant safari in the Eco Park which was very reasonable compared to other big national parks. We saw around 40 elephants in total. Thank you to our driver!! The property is beautiful, very quiet and in the country side - a perfect oasis for a chilled few days. It's a 10 minute drive to Sigiriya 'town' - there's a local bus for 200 rupees pp, otherwise a tuk tuk for around 600/700. The food was delicious and we were given fresh mango juices (from the garden). Breakfast is huge and changed daily. We saw a monkey on property and heard rustlsings of a nearby elephant!! We stayed for 3 nights and were offered fresh towels and a room clean everyday. I cannot recommend this place enough - wish we had more time here! Thank you to our lovely hosts.

Lugar muy tranquilo rodeado de vegetación y muchos pájaros. El desayuno es unos de los mejores para este rango de precios. Los dueños muy amables y siempre con una sonrisa. La habitación con todas las comodidades y muy limpia.
El hotel tiene muchos servicios, masajes, piscina, galería de arte, música en directo....El desayuno muy correcto. El buffet de la cena costaba 18 eur por persona. La habitación grande y con vistas a la piscina, estaba muy bien. La habitación tenía aire acondicionado y ventilador en el techo. Espectacular la vista de Lion Rock desde la piscina! A unos 10 minutos andando del centro del pueblo.
Nos hemos llevado una gran sensación en Shan Mango, especialmente por la hospitalidad de los propietarios. Siempre nos trataron con amabilidad y una gran sonrisa. La habitación en la que estuvimos es de las mejores en nuestro paso por Sri Lanka. La piscina estaba muy limpia al igual que las habitaciones y zonas comunes. El desayuno también ha sido de los mejores que hemos tenido en todo nuestro viaje, ya que era muy variado y abundante. El alojamiento es perfecto si quieres estar en un espacio tranquilo y relajado rodeado de naturaleza.
Las habitaciones son muy cómodas, están limpias y las duchas tienen su encanto ya que están expuestas al exterior. Las vistas son agradables desde la habitación ya que está en medio del bosque y no hay edificios delante.
La habitación era amplia, con aire y ventilador. La cama, cómoda. Se podía ir andando a Pidurangala y Lions rock. El personal fue amable y simpático (aunque no sé por qué, nuestro desayuno fue peor que el de otras habitaciones ). Te ayudan con gestiones e info, si te hace falta. Y te atienden a cualquier hora. Muy buena relación calidad -precio.
TODO… La habitación bonita y cómoda. El baño exterior grande, es fantástico ducharse al aire libre. El mejor desayuno que tuvimos en Sri Lanka, con buen café. Servicio inmejorable, todo el personal se desvive por hacerte la estación agradable. La piscina tranquila, grande para solo 5 habitaciones. Perfecta para desconectar. parking en la puerta Cena muy buena Cerca de Sigiriya y de Dambulla. Precio increíble para la calidad del alojamiento
La piscina, y la cama extra grande, la habitación tiene aire acondicionado, y habitaciones bastante limpias.
Me sorprendió la calidad del hotel. Muy por encima de nuestras expectativas. Los cuartos y baños estaban perfectos, las habitaciones muy muy cuidadas y las vistas alrededor de la habitación, te hacen sentir que estás en mitad de la jungla.
Alojamiento tranquilo regentado por una familia encantadora que cocina de maravilla!! Las habitaciones son muy amplias, las camas comodísimas, y poder darte una duchita caliente después de bajar la montaña no tiene precio. La cena la sirven en el mismo porche de la habitación y está todo exquisito! Volveremos sin duda :)
El mejor alojamiento de todo nuestro viaje sin duda. Desde la limpieza de las habitaciones, la atención de la familia, las facilidades ofertadas, la comida, los desayunos ( los mejores batidos del mundo). La habitación está en una finca familiar preciosa donde el anfitrión tiene espíritu de guia local y la amabilidad y el buen trato de la anfitriona hacen de este lugar mágico.
