Located in Nanto and only 44 km from Kanazawa Castle, GOKAYAMA BASE provides accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. In one word: brilliant! I had a very pleasant stay at this little guesthouse in Gokayama. The host is super friendly and accommodating and I really felt welcome. All facilities are there, everything is clean and the place looks just beautiful. The bus stop is less then a minute walk away and it is a 30 minute walk to Ainokura. I highly recommend staying here, you won’t regret it!

Located in the historical world heritage site of Ainokura village, Minshuku Yomoshirou offers Japanese-style accommodations in a traditional Gassho-style house with thatched roofs. Hosts were so accommodating, kind and gracious. They have snow boots and sleds you can borrow if you go in the winter. The space was warm and comfortable and the meals were incredibly delicious and thoughtful. We had a lovely one night stay in the adorable town of Ainokura.
