Mizu, the hostess of Smile guesthouse is a very kind and helpful person who speaks good English. She helped and guided us to make our stay even better. The guest house is a traditional Japanese house. Beautiful and full of details. And next to that you can eat fresh strawberries at the Tanaberry farm, which is a 8 minutes walking distance. We can recommend everyone to stay here. As we immediately extended our stay the day we arrived and are planning to definitely stay again the next time we travel to Japan.

I liked the spacious room for the two of us, the veranda, the beautiful temple which we were introduced to. The morning chanting and bell ringing was a really profound start to the day, and all offered in the most low key way. Really loved this Amida temple. 🌞 ☔ It was great to be told about the super sento 10 minutes walk away. 💦 Thanks so much for your generosity with lifts and other help. 🌻

The narrow stairway was challenging for us. There is ample room downstairs and perhaps owners would accommodate a request to put the bedding there.

The surroundings are really beautiful but you have to consider that you are really isolated. Fast wifi, great service, highly recommended if you want to experience a "different" Japan

Farm stay inn Sanzaemon-tei 母屋GuestHouse Shiga-Takasima Traditional Japanese architecture house ligger i Takashima, inom 50 km från Sanzen-in tempel och 27 km från Omimaiko Beach, och erbjuder boende... It really did feel like staying at my grandparents house in Japan. The staff were so friendly, kind and intentional and the food prepared for us in the morning was phenomenal.
