The guest house is a traditional Japanese house. Beautiful and full of details. And next to that you can eat fresh strawberries at the Tanaberry farm, which is a 8 minutes walking distance. We can recommend everyone to stay here. As we immediately extended our stay the day we arrived and are planning to definitely stay again the next time we travel to Japan.

I liked the spacious room for the two of us, the veranda, the beautiful temple which we were introduced to. The morning chanting and bell ringing was a really profound start to the day, and all offered in the most low key way. We had a great stay in this traditional little house ! Everything is clean, the kitchen is very well equipped, we loved the bathroom with a view of the surrounding fields and mountains. The family is lovely and has a great sense of hospitality. We will come back !

There is ample room downstairs and perhaps owners would accommodate a request to put the bedding there.

Situated in Takashima and only 50 km from Sanzen-in Temple, Farm stay inn Sanzaemon-tei 母屋GuestHouse Shiga-Takasima Traditional Japanese architecture house features accommodation with mountain views,... It really did feel like staying at my grandparents house in Japan. The staff were so friendly, kind and intentional and the food prepared for us in the morning was phenomenal.
