The location is quiet with a view of the river. Easily reachable from Hatton by bus or tuk-tuk (Namal can also organise a car to pick you up for a fair price). The rooms are clean, the common area as well, although basic. You can either dine out or order ahead and Namal's mother will cook something (it was delicious). If you want to climb Adam's Peak, you can order a drop-off by Tharaka, Namal's brother, who will take you by tuk tuk any time of night. Namal and his family were very responsive and attentive even though they had a funeral to attend to.

The food was delicious, home cooked and plentiful. The best we have had so far on our trip.
We also highly recommend the tour of the area, local tea factory, Castlereagh reservoir, old Anglican church still in use, and the waterfalls.
Thank you so much for an enjoyable stay.

We had an amazing experience staying at Vegetable Garden Guest House! They sent a tuk-tuk to pick us up from the Hatton train station and take us directly to the guest house. It is very conveniently located for hiking Adams peak, and is only a 10 minute walk from the trail head.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, going out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The dinner was lovely too. If you're planning on hiking Adam's Peak, this is the ideal spot to stay—Highly recommend!

Ishara was fabulous, very sweet, cooked us an amazing Sri Lankan dinner, felt like a home stay. She organised our trip to Adam’s Peak at 2am. Very accommodating when we had to change our plans!
This hostel was one of my favorite stays in Sri Lanka, the host family were very friendly and lovely, the rooms were very clean and airy, and the beds were comfortable to sleep in. By the way, the omelette and vegetable soup cooked by the hostess are delicious, don't miss it! If you come to this town, choosing this hostel must be the right decision.
The food was delicious and very affordable. You need to give the caretaker at least 2 hours notice to prepare meals. The price for this homestay is excellent, but you get what you pay for.
Hamantha is a wonderful owner. He will provide you with insights and guide you to the best places! His English is very good which makes it easy to have conversation about any topic. The Homestay has a 20 year old guess book with National Geographic in it. I had my own bathroom and enough privacy. just a tip: make sure to take the 2nd blanket that you are being offered. Sometimes in the night it can get cold.
The staff is very helpful and friendly.. We had a big problem with our car on our way and we couldnt repair it..The owner has fixed the problem, taking whole responsibility while giving us peace of mind to climb Adam's peak..The rooms are super clean and food is delicious..The garden is so calm n beautiful... This place is giving the feeling of a loving home...We had a great experience at Narra Homestay!
Situated in a beautiful location a few minutes away from the reservoir. Lovely hosts. This Guesthouse and area warrants two nights but, like us, most people only plan for the one so they can complete Adam's Peak. They know some lovely tuktuk drivers to take you there.
