The accommodation was cozy and comfortable, and we really felt at home during our three-night stay. I am very sensitive to bugs and we had absolutely no issues with that throughout our stay at Bolaven trail guesthouse. The host even surprised us with a fantastic baguette for breakfast, which was a lovely touch. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better host or a better place to stay in Pakse. We highly recommend this homestay to anyone looking for a warm and welcoming experience in Laos. Thank you to Xavier for making our trip so special.

At the hostel all rooms include bed linen and towels. Very nice relaxing place directly at the river with a few bungalows. Not a fancy, touristy place but very good value. I love it. Out of guesthouse only local people at Don Som island. Owners/ staff are very friendly and caring, helping with organization (which you need if you want to go to Don Det/ Don Khon but easy in the end). Good kitchen at the guesthouse.

Ngoc is very helpful, and an amazing cook. She was able to assist us with many things, bus, scooter renting. The place is very nice even if not in the city center, but to be honest that did not affect us at all, also because Ngoc is always available and can contact a tuk tuk for you. I definitely recommend the place and I hope to go back soon to enjoy the rice soup in the morning for breakfast in the beautiful garden.

Set in Don Det in the Champasak region, Crazy Gecko Dondet features a balcony and river views. This guest house offers a garden, a terrace, as well as a bar. Free WiFi is included throughout the property. We were initially placed in a three family room upstairs and were given the option to switch to a river view room the next day. However we preferred the bigger room with more privacy and the two hammocks. Very peaceful vibes and the host family was kind and knowledgeable. Not to mention great food I recommend the curry, sandwiches, and lemonade made in-house. Great bang for your buck.

Mattress and blanket. AC works fine. The first room we got (the cheaper one) was comfy but nothing more. The second one directly on the river with the private balcony was avait stunning! Definitely worth the difference. The owner is very helpful with activity and transport and we had a good time. Wifi was good for Don Det and my dog was welcome and met many friendly other dogs on the island. Highly recommend 🥰
