Boasting inner courtyard views, Bolaven trail guesthouse offers accommodation with terrace, around 700 metres from Wat Luang. The hosts Xavier and his wife were very helpful and pleasant. He organised my trip down to Don Det. The guesthouse was in a quiet area. I slept very well there.

We absolutely loved staying at the Don Som Riverside Guesthouse, best place to stay and eat in the 4000 islands. Our little bungalow was super confortable and the shared bathroom was spacious and always clean. We had the view on the Mekong and we spend a crazy amount of time in the hammocks in front of the bungalow. It's a bit further from the rest of the 4000 islands but definitely worth it, the owners are adorable and will do anything to help you and make your stay an awesome experience. Also the island itself is very pretty and only locals live there so if you looking to get away from touristic places, this is your spot! The food is delicious there, breakfast, mango shake and my favorite: their pad thai. Water is free and they have plenty of activities. We went fishing in the Mekong and rented their scooter to visit the different islands. We would have stayed at least a week there if we could. Highly recommend!!

Situated in Pakse, 3.4 km from International bus station KM 2 and 4.1 km from Champasak Stadium, Xuanmai Garden Resort offers a garden and air conditioning. This was easily the best stay in Laos which we had, all thanks to Ngoc, the property owner - she helped us during the stay, assisted in organising travel in the region and even arranged the best travel option to Cambodia. She checked up on us at critical points making sure we had the best and safe experience. The food at the property is home made and delicious.

DD Guest House, a property with a bar, is set in Pakse, 400 metres from Wat Luang, less than 1 km from Pakse Bus station, as well as a 13-minute walk from Wat Phabat. Perfect location with stores close by. The breakfast is excellent quality, and the staff are super friendly and helpful, no communication issues whatsoever. The fans in the room were more than efficient in the heat, and the room was large and airy. The common area in the cafe is well equipped with sockets and fans, and perfect for working or chilling out. Falling asleep to the sound of frogs in the nearby river was wonderful :)
