This feels like you’re staying in someone’s home they’ve designed perfectly for themselves to be cosy and comfy and happy, and now you get to stay in it. Beautiful eclectic house and garden, we had a wonderful stay.

YAKATA - Vacation STAY 58651v is located in Yuzawa, 22 km from Naeba Ski Resort, 9.1 km from Maiko Snow Resort, as well as 17 km from Tanigawadake. Writing this review is a double edged sword, I believe everyone visiting Yuzawa should stay here but I fear I’ll never be able to secure a reservation here again. Incredible food, perfect for vegans, vegetarians and coeliacs (gluten free). The coffee is better than Melbourne’s. Location is smack bang in the middle of everything. Hospitality better than every 5 star hotel I’ve seen. Local knowledge and guidance is superb. You could not wish for a better experience.

The location is opposite to the Yuzawa Kogen ski resort. If getting the bus from Gala Yuzawa, just find the route that will pass Yuzawa Kogen and tell the bus driver. Share bathroom is not the problem. Recommend to stay here.

Situated in Tokamachi and only 13 km from Gala Yuzawa Snow Resort, 古民家宿Tani House Itaya -セルフチェックイン features accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. Old house with not simply vintage style but real details. Love all the furniture and the wood stove at first sight. Nobu welcomed us with some nice herbal tea. She speaks fluent English and we had some nice conversations. She also recommended and gave us a ride to a nice public bath. What we cherished most is the special visit to Mr. Kawanaka, the local artist. It’s our pleasure to meet him and appreciate his artwork. Truly memorable journey. Thank you!
