The staff were absolutely amazing and helped me get around, reserve dinner at restaurants and so on. Highly recommend! The Hakone free pass bus stops right outside. The onsen is also very nice. It is located within Fuji-Hakone National Park, and a 2-minute walk from the nearest Senkyoro Mae bus stop. 1. The location. Very close to the bus stop to go to Hakone Yumoto or Odawara station and other tourist attractions such as Togendai, The Glass Museum, Lalique museum, Choanji and Sengokuhara Plateau. 2. This guesthouse embodies perfectly the essence of Japan. Everything (even the small details) is connected with Japanese culture: the tatami rooms, the curtains for the toilets, the seasonal decoration (New Year decoration in our case!) and the small ikebana arrengements :D. Even the toilets had a refreshing scent! 3. The futon is so confortable. We sleep amazingly well and we were woken up by the chirping of the birds :D. 4. The host is so nice. You can really tell that she puts a lot of effort in making everything perfect and taking care of all guests :D 5. The onsen! It is absolutely gorgeous and its water is milky white which makes it very special (you may not find this in other prefectures) :D. It is possible to choose between an outdoor onsen (separate fee required) and an indoor onsen (free). This is not really criticism because we found everything amazing, but I think it would be a good idea to have more outdoor lights as the way in is a little bit dark at night. Other than that we would love to stay here again! Thank you so much! :D

Overall speaking our stay was fantastic. We read the comments before we booked and expected a good stay. We know the transport is a concern but we drive, so it isn’t an issue. (See below for more about parking) Yet, it is still out of our expectations. We enjoyed so much in the quiet and harmony environment!
We spent 4 days 3 nights here. We appreciate the services, food and environment. Places are clean, neat and tidy. The host Rin-san is very detailed and helpful. Its location is a distance from the town; so it is quiet.
Originally we planned for long days in nearby towns and tourist locations, and thought that it is just a place for bath and sleep. We didn’t book for additional meals (only booked a dinner on the first night because we would arrive late). Later on we changed our mind and booked the breakfast for day 3 and 4 so that we can enjoyed and relaxed more. Both the dinner and 2x breakfast were wonderful: good variety, delicious, well garnished, and good price!
Next to it is a large park. On day 3 we shortened our day tour and went back early. We jogged for an hour and then bought some beer and light meal as our day-3-dinner. The sunset was wonderful. We just sat outdoor, had some snack and chat. An hour easily passed.
There were a few email interactions before we checked in. Rin-san explained everything we need and reserved a parking space for us. He replied our questions promptly and arranged everything as requested. We had no difficulty locating the House except that we didn’t expect the condition of the small road towards the House was so poor. In fact Rin-san had explained to us in the email. The road was under construction. We then moved our car to the House another parking space on day 2 morning. It’s just 2 minutes walk and is next to the park we mentioned above. Rin-san drove us there. The arrangement was great.
I can’t probably write everything here.

Very charming guesthouse, it was great to have access to an onsen for such a cheap place. Surprised by how good the amenities were too, lots of bathroom products available and even a hair straightener. The bar/restaurant was simple and cosy, great for easy access food and drink. Lovely vibe to the place and adorable dog.
The 2 hosts were fantastic and super friendly. They had great knowledge of the area and helpful with plans. The accommodation itself is in a great location near the hase station off the main road. Bedroom was quiet and had aircon/ heater. The hosts have lots of unique decorations and shows their fun personalities. They made me a coffee in the morning which was fantastic way to start my day!
Great location. A cosy hostel in a relatively quiet neighbourhood. Check-in went without issues, although I did have to help a few guests with their check-in as it was unclear which bunk number is assigned to you unless you check inside the mens/ladies room itself (it's written on a whiteboard on the wall). Nice comfy bed, enough walking space on the floor to place luggage and not feel that you might be blocking other guests. Really liked having access to the 4th floor space for having meals late at night.
Excellent location, close to many restaurants and walking distance from train station. We used this apartment as a home base while exploring Hakone with Hakone free pass and had excellent time. Was a lot cheaper to stay in Odawara than in Hakone and the restaurants were cheaper too. Host was very welcoming and friendly. There were all the amenities that you could need and we never had to queue to the shared bathroom or toilet. House was very quiet and bed super comfortable. Would stay here again.
We had a fantastic stay at Hakone Guesthouse. The host was incredibly lovely and offered to drive us to Hakone Gora Park on our first day. The host also spoke very good English. The rooms were capsule-style and very clean. The other guests were very quiet and respectful. The location was fairly convenient - a 30 minute walk to Gora Station and close by buses that are serviced by the Hakone Free Pass.
The double bed capsule was super spacious and really cheap at under 20£ a night. The hostel staff were very friendly and helpful in answering all my questions about sightseeing. Nice and quiet at night and free tea and coffee was a bonus!
I love this little guest house. It was right very close to one of the best modern sushi restaurants I've been to. The host was amazingly helpful and very very friendly. It's quite small but it's very quaint and cute. The room is quite big though for what we needed. It is Japanese style so beds on the floor which were comfy and warm.
The host was a very nice, smiley and kind person. She was very clear and punctual in the explanations about the stay, and she was also giving me many advices on what to visit in Hakone. Her hostel is a lovely, traditional guest house. I felt like in one of those Japanese movies that I was watching when I was little. It was also super clean and cozy. Kana also offers hot/cold free drinks, and a fridge to leave your stuff. The neighbours is quiet and peaceful. I totally recommend!
