The George Inn is a 14th century inn and Plaine is a 16th century building located immediately opposite The George, situated in Norton Saint Philip. A warm, sizeable room with an excellent bathroom and comfortable bed, on a cold January night - just what I wanted. I had an excellent dinner in the restaurant and a good breakfast the following morning before leaving. Friendly service, convenient parking and a real sense of history in this beautifully conserved old inn.

The Bower Inn is an 18th-century building, located just off the M5 motorway and 2 miles from Bridgwater town centre. It offers stylish rooms with luxury bathrooms and delicious homemade food. Ample parking, friendly and helpful staff, lovely room, would 100% recommend!

Boasting garden views, Glastonbury Hideaway features accommodation with a garden and a terrace, around 43 km from Bristol Temple Meads Station. Andy and Julie were so kind to us, and also offered suggestions for local itinerary. The Hideaway room was amazing, with lots of little thoughtful touches and gorgeously decorated. The garden view outside was lovely and so enjoyable. We slept like rocks in the comfortable and cool Hideaway. We cannot recommend this gem enough for a stay in the Glastonbury area. We will definitely stay here on future visits!

Greenlands Guest House, featuring a garden, is situated in Highbridge, 47 km from Ashton Court and 48 km from Bristol Cathedral. Everything we needed was there and spotless, car parking and our host went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Lovely couple thoroughly recommend

Huberts, a property with a garden, is situated in Wedmore, 39 km from Ashton Court, 41 km from Bristol Temple Meads Station, as well as 41 km from Bristol Cathedral. I loved the ambience of the whole room. The garden and surrounding areas are stunning. Breakfast was lovely.

Situated in Wincanton and with Longleat Safari Park reachable within 29 km, The Nog Inn features a garden, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi and a bar. Great location, fantastic friendly staff and a lovely stay. Would come here again and great value for money!

The New Inn Halse has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Taunton. The inn also offers free WiFi and free private parking. All guest rooms in the inn are equipped with a flat-screen TV. The community is very proud of their community owned pub, and rightfully so! Breakfast is set out by lovely volunteers, and manager Lucy gave us a wonderful welcome. Lots of nice walks in the area (with a helpful guide to a few walks provided) and it is a good base for adventures into Exmoor.
