Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated The Old Vicarage offers accommodation with water sports facilities and free WiFi. The proprietors, Michael and Diane, could not have been more friendly and helpful, with booking us into the local pub for dinner and suggestions about what to explore in the village. The breakfast was delicious, beds and room comfortable and spotlessly clean, and the setting beautiful.

Featuring a terrace, restaurant, bar and free WiFi, The Roast Ox Inn is located in Builth Wells, 41 km from Elan Valley and 13 km from Clifford Castle. OMG, what a great Inn. The bed was extremely comfortable, the setting was idyllic and it was quiet. The food was excellent and the staff were so friendly. The pub was very busy and a lot of fun, though I was too tired to take full advantage of the Saturday night fun. Breakfast was a full-on English breakfast with cereals, juice, 2 eggs, bacon, homemade toast and jam, mushrooms, roast tomato and the best breakfast sausage know to man. Be sure to reserve a table for dinner as they do fill up. As an aside, the kind staff (Christine and Jan) look after a feral cat that hangs out at the Inn. Not sure of his/her name, but she was very friendly and liked a good scratch on the neck. I woke up early the next morning to find the cat waiting at my door. After a light scratching, She led me downstairs to let her out. The entire experience at Roast Ox Inn was perfect and is highly recommended.

Boasting a garden and views of river, Aberllynfi Riverside Guest House is a bed and breakfast set in a historic building in Glasbury, 45 km from Elan Valley. Highly recommended! Excellent hosts, tasty breakfast, and a charming view of the river. Easy to find and convenient location, 10-minute drive to Hay-on-Wye.

Ty Helyg Guest House is located in Brecon. Free WiFi access is available and the Brecon Beacons National Park is less than 10 minutes' walk away. Brecon isn’t a big place so everywhere in the village is within walking distance. Christine is fantastic. She’ll help you with anything you need. The room was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. Breakfasts were fantastic.

Guest house Cedars is located just a 2-minute walk from the town center of Builth Wells, boasting views of the Wye Valley. There is free WiFi access available and the property offers free parking. Rooms were clean, fresh and warm! Guest info provided - including all pubs/places to eat within 10 miles (with phone numbers etc for each!) En Suites - clean and tidy Breakfast got a big thumbs up from both of us who stayed! Good location - within walking of village/town centre

Between Newtown and Llandrindod Wells, the family-run Lion Hotel in Llanbister offers 4 well-appointed rooms and a cosy dining room and bar. There is free on-site parking and Wi-Fi at this Powys inn. Fantastic Super place and the owners are great. Really great place to stay.

In the centre of Builth Wells, Bronwye Guest House is a 4-star rated bed and breakfast on the route of the Wye Valley Walk. Nice and cozy room, nice garden & river view, nice and helpful personnel, very good breakfast with different options.

This former Victorian vicarage offers 4-star accommodation in mid-Wales. There is WiFi throughout, off-road parking and an electric car charging point. The setting was spectacular, stunning views from every window. Lovely soaker tub was a treat

Greylands Guest House is located in the town of Llandrindod Wells, in Powys. Built in 1897, this Victorian property offers free Wi-Fi access in all areas and free parking. The staff was amazing. The breakfast was out of this world. Amazing experience!
