Located 1 km away from Lucerne, Gasthaus zur Waldegg features 2 restaurants offering traditional Swiss and international cuisine, a bar and a beer garden overlooking Mount Pilatus. This is such a hidden germ! The room we stayed in was fully renovated, with a nice balcony and a great view of the mountains. In general, we really appreciated the hospitality — the staff were very kind and welcoming and there were thoughtful touches like free coffee and water carafes in the communal area, as well as an “honesty bar.” After a long day of discovering beautiful Lucerne and its surroundings, you can try local beers in the garden under the shade of the trees (which seem to be frequented by locals as well.) The location is perfect as it’s very close to the city center (direct bus line, train stop 5 min walk away) but also gives easier access to Alpnachstad/mountains. We hope to be back!

Providing free WiFi, private parking and water sports facilities, the recently renovated property of Ferien-Sempachersee Sandra Sens, offers rooms in Sempach, 16 km from Lucerne Station and 16 km from... The property is located only a few meters from the beautiful lake and is also visible from the room which is so relaxing, you can and will find almost everything that you might need for the stay at Sandra’s. She is an amazing host, and you will feel right at home. Bus stop and restaurants are close and you can easily spend few days in this quaint town. Everything was super clean, would like to come back here again :)

The family-run Gasthaus Engel is located in Hasle in the canton of Lucerne. It offers simply furnished rooms with cable TV, a radio, and a bathroom. Free private parking is available. Great owners. Good food in their restaurant. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

Family-run for over 350 years, this traditional country hotel in Triengen is 8 km from Sursee and 30 km from Lucerne. Each room has a balcony and offers free Wi-Fi. Perfect service, room was big with sitting area, welcome by owner was very friendly. Restaurant with traditional dishes were very tasty. Price / quality was top. Breakfast before 9 was served in room building, all was available, top service.

This hotel is situated in Meggen, just 700 metres away from Lake Lucerne. It offers an Italian restaurant with garden terrace. All rooms have a bathroom and cable TV. Everything was as it should be, clean and nice. The garden was also good. The atmosphere nearby was also worth seeing, I would like to be there once more!

We were offered to stay at Hotel Central am See and again in an upgraded room with a full lake view in front of us (including the bathroom). And the breakfast was marvellous including a fresh cooked egg as per our wish!
