I took my fiancé (then girlfriend) away for the weekend with the intention of proposing. I got in contact with the reserve and told them about my plans and requested them to assist with the set-up. They took us out on a private game drive whilst the staff was preparing a breakfast spot at the view point. Everyone assisted and overshot expectations. Apart from the lengths they went to to make the moment special, the whole weekend was amazing. The staff is exceptionally friendly and one feels at home. I would definitely recommend Summerplace for a weekend break away.

unfortunately due to a mixup our booking didn’t come through correctly and Jolene had to arrange something else, which she did very quickly and professionally. we were moved into the farmhouse, which was stunning! we spent our last night in the regular raptors lodge chalet that was also a pleasure.

We stayed in the cosy rustic cottage (front). The cottage had everything we needed and is situated in the most beautiful setting. Stanford Lake is a place for nature lovers and you will spend more than outside exploring the farm and lake than inside the cottage irrespective whether it is raining in Magoebaskloof or not. Stanford Lake has an amazing atmosphere and is a pleasant break away from the city life.
2houses, easily sleeps many people. Rustic decor in a farm setting, comfortable beds. We had a lot of space to ourselves. Piping hot water in the bathrooms:-) Quiet and private but still feels safe, 4 min drive to shops. Road is accessible, easily drivable for all vehicles. Good cell phone signal. On site staff is very accomodating and understanding If ur looking for a humble getaway that includes your pets, all basic kitchen necessities provided.
Everything was perfect. The reception we got was magnificent, The farmhouse was relaxing, situated in the right place outside the CBD and brings nostalgic memories. I cannot fault the place. Well done.
