Brand new and modern renovation of a historic building with absolutely the most comfortable beds. Friendly and helpful staff. Incredible value for the money. This place looked like a chic Manhattan hotel and was walkable to all Ponta Delgada sights. Did I mention the food? We stayed for lunch as the breakfast was so exceptional.

The old quinta is a true gem and the apartment felt very homely, with all the neat and well selected decoration, the nice wooden floors and the harmonic ambience. Beautiful views and a lush garden, also a great location to explore all parts of the island, the best spots for hot volcanic baths are also very close! We stayed with a four year old and a little baby and would say its a perfect spot to travel with your family and will definitely recommend this place to our friends.

Moinho das Feteiras has sea views, free WiFi and free private parking, situated in Feteiras, 15 km from Pico do Carvao. Very nice small hotel. It feels like a BnB but with the services of an hotel. Great location, not far from Ponta Delgada but far enough to stay in a quiet and rural area. The infinity pool is amazing.

Situated in Ponta Delgada and only 11 km from Pico do Carvao, Monte Ingles features accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. Absolutely everything. We loved staying for 3 nights with Caroline, her dogs and her horses. We wish that it had been longer. Caroline is an amazing woman and an inspiration. Her home and gardens are beautiful and in a perfect location outside of the city for exploring Sao Miguel and when coming from or going to the airport. Coffee, tea, cookies and fruit were always available.

The Convento de São Francisco is a built in a 17th century Franciscan convent. It is a fantastic location and is very tastefully decorated. Modern but keeping the historic charm of an old Monastery. The staff are incredibly helpful and accommodating as well. Loved our stay.

The Quinta de Santa Clara is a cozy property, 22 km from the famous Lagoa do Fogo, the highest lagoon in São Miguel Island. The hotel is beautiful, quiet, modern. The staff are great, excellent value. Everything worked, room cleaned every day, appliances were great.
